YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY!

I'm happy now.

Adaptation and City Of God are also both very good.

Great list!

Those I've seen from the top 10 are all really good, City of God and LOTR are a perfect top 2.

The Pianist 8/10 - Deeply moving but not the director's best.

Spun 7.5/10 - Very sharp, interesting stylish film, like you said a more blackly comic version of RFAD.

The Hours 8/10 - May have been perfect if Kidman had not been in it.

The Twilight Samurai 8/10 - Delightful film.

Far From Heaven 9/10 - A complete masterpiece, brilliant design, engaging performances, spot on direction and a moving script. Hayne's high point along with Velvet Goldmine.

Adaptation 8/10 - Very good if uneven in places.

City of God 7/10 - I have issues with this film.

The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers 8/10 - Excellent film however the weakest of the three imo.

Well done on a cracking thread BJ with some very deverse choices! By the way I take it you are classing Mulholland Drive as a 2001 film?

I loved Velvet Goldmine as well, very under-rated.

And yeah, I've classed the films from the year they were first released as opposed to first released in UK. So Mulholland Dr will appear on the '01 list
