TBH the first film in the franchise was fairly hideous and seemed to be suitable only for people below the age of 8. Now the characters and film itself has matured slightly and the appeal is more general. There are some inspired moments such as when the two lads are on the Cranium shaker and look genuinely petrified. It is let down at the end by somewhat lazy narrative but not the disaster I was expecting from a film well outside my demographic.
