Actually, very good fucking shout with those (despite Sofia Coppola and even though it isn't in the same league as 1 and 2, I still think Godfather 3 is a brilliant film).

Now you mention it, for my money I think Bourne takes it - the series starts off very strong and just gets stronger as it goes on (we're treating Legacy as a completely separate entity, yeah? Just in case it turns out to be shit).

Dude, TDKR could be the greatest movie ever made, and i'd still rate the overall trilogy as i did above. I outright HATED Batman Begins, which automatically puts the whole trilogy below all the ones i listed. So yes, it does put me in a position to pass judgement.

Love the Batman films but there are better trilogies out there. Suprised no-one has mentioned Back to the Future...

TDKR is the least consistent of the three but I still really loved it. They are great films, but I wouldnt rate them as the best trilogy ever. Probably the best Superhero trilogy ever (by a mile).

In DK's defence, you're kind of suggesting with that that the Jaws series is the best quartet ever made...

Well what i said above still applies. Even if i thought TDKR was the best movie ever made, the fact that i hate one of the entries in the trilogy knocks it waaaaaaay down.

I don't even like The Dark Knight.

The irony is DK is such an action fan that hed be sure to enjoy the final truck/Bat copter chase in TDKR.Its one of the best action sequences iv seen in many a year.Even better than anything in Avengers.

Bourne is the only trilogy that gets better with each instalment. And it starts brilliantly.

Well i wasn't convinced Nolan could do action after Batman Begins but the big central set piece in The Dark knight is great, loved that. I can well believe TDKR has at least one really kickass action scene, if not more. I'll see it someday, just down the line.

Id certainly rate The Dark Knight trilogy above the Back To The Future trilogy.BTTF 1 is an all time classic but the sequels are hardly in the same league. They are fun but nothing special.

Agreed. Back To The Future is arguably my favourite film of all time, but the sequels (as much as I enjoy them) don't come anywhere near the goodness of the first.

Nolan's batman trilogy however keeps the quality pretty high from start to finish (well in my opinion anyway), and the gaps between aren't as large.

I'll accept people suggesting LOTR, but it's not a personal preference.

Bourne's a decent shout, but I find the Greengrass ones much stronger than Liman's Indentity.

The Look Who's Talking trilogy is better than any of these.

Wisecracking dogs and babies with the voices of Willis and DeVito = unmitigated hilarity.
