Big names don't necessarily mean "something special." Don't confuse quantity with quality. Interesting that they've cast the guy who played Freddy Krueger in the Nightmare On Elm Street reboot. Wes Craven's original, like the original Robocop, was a perfectly-imagined 80s movie that the remake struggled to improve on. I think the new Robocop will struggle also. Let's wait and see.

 They got Jose Padilha who directed the excellent Elite Squad 2 and Bus 174, that alone fills me with hope.

 It'll be interesting to see how this turn's out. I'm a BIG fan of the original having grown up with. But I have to say that I do have my reservation's, most of the reboot's thus far haven't been too good. Padila is a name that excites me, but then again I also had the same excitement when I heard Gavin Hood was going to direct Wolverine - and that turned out to be utter tosh.

We do not need another reboot. It appears we ran out of fresh ideas in the 80s and since have been resting on our lols rebooting every-bloody-thing. Fancy cast- so what, this is no indication of anything apart from the fact they are trying to lury people in with big names to cash in... disgusting

Thats my main concern that this is going to be a kiddie freindly 12 cert. If it is then it may as well be an Iron Man clone!
