Surprise favourite - anyone like this "what if" telekenetic powers story - I felt it was quite natural in the acting dept, and semi believable (the way things happen, not the powers)

A group of standard teenage clichés (the jock, the outcast and the popular guy) gain mind powers after they find a mystery object (looks like Superman's ship to me) down a cave and things go predictably from fun to total shit over the course of the movie with a lot of nice effects sequences in spite of the obvious budget - very reminiscent of Akira in a few places. The biggest problem is the "found footage" style of filming the story which I am not a fan of, it adds nothing substantial to the movie besides some neat POV shots of the abilities, and it's a little distracting towards the end as they struggle to fit in sources of filming and I realised that nobody would actually find some of the recordings.

Still really good fun overall though, anybody else even see it? Have to say I didn't hear anything about it really press wise.

I liked the natural feel of it, but the second half was pure garbage. Lame bullied kid turning evil cliche. Bang Bang You're Dead did it better without the shitty handheld camera and super powers.

Loved this in the cinema. Thought all three leads were great and found the progression of the powers, and abuse of them by the bullied/abused kid, to be completely believable.

The constant filming sometimes stretched credibility at times (why is the girl filming her front door?), but the climax: watching the fight from lots of different cameras (CCTV, police cameras, camera phone) was brilliant.

Good film but I felt it kind of chickened out at the end and went for a typical showdown in the big city finale. I also thought Dane DeHaan as the central Andrew character was a little poor and sulky for my likings. His grimacing while he telekinetic-ed his way around was a little awkward at times.

All in all a fresh and interesting approach to the superhero film genre.

Thought this was excellent.

Really enjoyed it, although it would have been better if the guy who ripped the spider apart had done the same to his dad - as was originally planned.

I enjoyed it a lot, but strangely I have no desire to watch it again. It doesn't make sense to me either.

Just watched this for the first time tonight. We need more refreshing, innovative, unique sci-fi like this being made and less garbage like Battleship.

Refreshing, sure. It was a nice twist on the superhero film. Innovative and unique? Not really, it was still a regular superhero film and the ending was just Akira

Though I understood what was happening here instead of Akira where I was clueless. Chronicle was a great film and hugely entertaining. I loved the flight sequence and was really impressed by the climax.

Oooh. Shame that didnt make it in the film, but the scene with the spider was decent. I "enjoyed" (cant think of another word) the domestic abuse angle of it and how it affected Andrew. Would definately watch again, though its a shame by the end of the film it has nowhere to go with a sequel. An easy 4/5.

Does it need one? Anyway Fox have got Josh Trank doing the Fantastic Four reboot.

Fantastic Four!!...Josh is being wasted on Fantastic Four!....meh!. Ive never liked Fantastic Four , the movies didn't help. Couldn't they have got him onto Green lantern or Daredevil instead, that would get my super juices flowing!! (you love that image I know you do)

I have a spare copy of the Chronicle steelbook if anyone wants to offer me a trade for it. It's opened but in good condition. Bear in mind this goes for about £35 new
