You have been given an unlimited budget and can hire any living actor or actress...my question is, who do you cast and what sort of film would you put them in?

You know half the answers will be Carey Mulligan, Anne Hathaway & Emma Stone in porn, right?

No offence intended, but your mate is a fool.

To get this thread back on track, I would make a film about Katherine Heigl, Shia Lebouff and a grizzly bear locked in a room with no windows.

I would call it: "The two most unlikeable actors in the world get eaten by a big fucking grizzly bear". Now someone hand me that fucking Oscar.

Throw Meryl Streep in and I'd finance it myself.

I know I'm adding an extra rule here, but I'd bring David Niven back from the dead and cast him as a gentleman thief in a heist movie, robbing the bank of England using nothing but a few low tech gadgets, his own ingenuity and English charms, and help of the lovely Elizabeth Hurley.

So an actor who used to be a corpse and an actress with the charisma and talent of a corpse?

Cool.

If it doesn't work I can remake it as a zombie flick.

I'm starting to like the Mulligan, Stone and Hathaway tryst idea. I would also like to offer up my services as the male lead.

I'm holding out for the Kate Winslet/Alison Brie/Aubrey Plaza film.

I'd like to see a new Star Wars movie set 30 odd years after Return of the Jedi, with an old grizzled Luke Skywalker training a new generation of Jedi Knights.

I'm going to basically ignore the op's question and say I'd hire Miyazaki to adapt The Little Prince. Then he could go to work on The Moomins.

Or, film The Hawkline Monster with Gosling and JGL as the bounty hunters

Mark Hamill

No idea who else, a bunch of newcomers for the apprentices though. Big stars in Star Wars movies doesn't really feel right, except for older characters which in this case would be Hamill.

His mate is spot on. She really does resemble a mare.

I'd just give this money to Terry Gilliam and let him make Don Quixote.

I'd do my own version of slacker with all the actors I like looking like normal people rather than done up with makeup.

Gears Of War with Lester Speight as Cole and Ryan Reynolds as Baird. Maybe not the two actors I want to work with most, but they'd suit those roles perfectly (obviously Speight would). Haven't decided who should play Dom or Marcus yet.

If any actress looks like a horse it's Sarah Jessica Parker.

No I'm quite enjoying the idea of Emma Stone in some girl on girl action, if it was at the cinema I'd be like the people who went to see Titanic 15/16 times.
Throw Alison Brie in there two and it would win all of the Oscars.

And to answer my own question:
I've had this idea for a story (not a very original one but one I'd like to work with) of a rookie detective hunting a serial killer but in the end it turns out that the detective was the serial killer during black outs and when he comes face to face with the serial killer it's either paranoid delusions or dreams and once the killer/detective finds out (after killing his wife) it was him he kills himself by taking his wife's body in to the church they got married in and burning it down with both of them inside. (Which is how the movie starts but you are unaware that the detective is inside)

I'd want it to have a sort of LA Noire feel to it but with a darker edge, with the dream sequences perfectly blending in until the end where it all breaks down and the world falls around the rookie detective and he wakes up and remembers everything.

Cast:
Rookie Detective - Ryan Gosling
Serial Killer - Sean Penn
Detectives Wife - Michelle Williams or Marion Cotillard

Oh and as I can hire anyone I'd hire Nicholas Cage to be an extra.
