Edit: It's okay, found it.

Has anyone actually factually stated that the murderer thought he was a fictional character (I can't seem to find any actual evidence out there to back up this oft repeated by the media claim) other then the newspapers who are falsely claiming he dyed his hair took look like the Joker (after all red is just like green).

There was the early report that he said "I'm the Joker" when the police caught him but that could be either bullshit or words said in the heat of the moment.
