God, I'd completely forgotten about that. No, we didn't.

Well, he had asked for the book but we don't know why it was her that gave him it. It was either a clue or red herring on the part of the writers. It was her first episode so she was either telling Joe she was there or she wanted to meet the man in person as she is an expert on cults, depends on how her story goes.....

Wasn't there some sort of exchange the first time they spoke, along the lines of Carroll saying they hadn't met before. Well they both seemed very aware of each other when she handed him the book.

That's the thing - there's never back up in this bloody show. It's really getting more like a frigin' comedy every week, albeit one with lots of stabby stuff and homicidal nutters. I don't get that the FBI have now acknowledged they're incompetence but still insist on sending 2 people (one of whom isn't even a cop anymore) to the scene of their best lead. That harbour should've been swarming with Feds and Iceman should've had protection when stupidly sent home, what the feck was the new boss guy thinking? I'll watch the series to the end, but fuck me if it isn't the most annoying show on the box at the moment.

maybe new boss guy is in on it - that's why he seems so useless

If being useless is the requirement, Kev's in for a rough ride as every cop in this show must be in on it.

Have to agree - this show and its dumb Feds/Police/marshals is that far fetched in order to work that you just have to turn your logical brain off and just go with the flow. Its a lot more fun that way.

This is our 'watch it whilst we're eating our tea' show. Silly fun.

Loving this too! Yes it is annoying that they seem to be completely useless but like others say turn your brain off and it's good fun. Loving Bacon in this as well. Want to see him being a bit more hardcore and less on the back foot all the time. It's great when he's completely mind fucking them

This past weeks episode was seriously testing my patients. I'm trying to turn my brain off and just enjoy it but its getting worse every week. It literally is a Bacon and Purefoy thriller as everyone except Bacon seems pointless. Then, there was the 'shock' reveal of Molly at the end...yawn. What's his face seeing his dead boyfriend (please don't go there!)....

I'll be watching it though as for some reason the Mrs thinks its awesome.....

I also came perilously close after that last episode. I think there's only 4 or so to go so that's my reason for staying.

Well I'm still with it, am enjoying it still, though I do spend a reasonable amount of time tutting at the TV at the utter uselessness of most of the Law Enforcement Communities involvement.

On a plus I'm enjoying the fleeting moments of utter brilliance Ryan has when he meets any of the cult, he does bitchslap them good. Also the way Carroll's little 'family' is crumbling at the edges - whodathunk a bunch of sociopathic individuals wouldn't want to share control?

I want to know what the plan is that Roderick is so eager to start, I think that might make or break wether I stick with this as it becomes more absurd every week.

Once again the FBI were useless. Even in my limited tactical knowledge gained from watching films and reading the odd news story, I'd know when searching a warren of tunnels in the dark I wouldn't send SWAT guys on their own. But even then what are the chances when someone wants to communicate something the radio cuts out?!

Ridiculous.

I have to admit I am on the verge of giving up. It was initially interesting but the continuous list of stupidity by the FBI mixed with handy little things going wrong which assist the psycho cult is just becoming ridiculous and it is becoming a bit of a joke programme.

Well colour me surprised! I never saw the Hardy being a murderer himself twist coming at all! Interesting....

YFU's 'The Following' Gripes of the Week:

3. The fact that Claire just did a runner, was it ever going to be that easy?!
2. The only man who can identify Roderick is literally shipped off at the exact moment he arrives

....and this weeks winner....

1. That Joe and Co. just did a runner without tying up Hardy or the woman. Really? Really? Just make a run for it and hope for the best eh?!

Adding to your gripes:

Once again the FBI get overpowered by the baddies in a 3 on 3 situation.

When Jacob turned up downstairs holding wossername at gunpoint, Hardy put his gun down. Now, we've already seen Hardy shoot someone in the same situation, he could've done it again. But instead he handed the initiative over to Joe and co.

I didn't even watch this week. Got a synopsis from my mother and it sounded as stupid as ever so I'm officially out. Such a waste of Purefoy's talent

I'm still enjoying it, but the FBI really are getting schooled by what amounts to a bunch of militia men and some psychotic school teachers.

Me too, thought last nights episode was the best of recent ones. At least the Feds seemed slightly more competent this week - though only briefly.

Still, Claire got a bit stabby which was good.

I'm now viewing it as enjoyable bunkum, which makes it easier to tolerate.

I thought the latest episode was great. I was worried that they would string out the whole 'will Mike see Roderick' bit but, nope, it happened right away. Everything is going tits up for Joe while Hardy gets a victory in getting Joey back. And that ending was a shock, I hope the last two eps are as good.

Yeah, I was surprised how quickly they dealt with the Roderick issue, I really expected them to drag it out. It's good to see Joe actually acting like a psychotic killer now - more believable.

Wonder what Joe's big plan is?

The only bit I found really daft was that Rodders got away initially, surely someone would have stopped him before he got far, the place is full of police and FBI?!?! What are they, stormtroopers!?!?

Wonder if little Joey's been brainwashed...?

Watching clips of the manhunt in the States makes the FBI in this look even more incompetent

This is so bad it's good in my opinion. Full of entertainment and laughs for me with Bacon and Purefoy delivering good performances.

How come Bacon's not sussed that his next door neighbour and ex missus went to see Carroll about 50 times? Didn't he watch the videos?

I have given up on this now. If there was some wins and some losses on both sides I would accept it more but to make one side a joke purely for the sake of making the other side look better than they actually are takes away from the storyline and the distracts. It is turning into one big joke and not in a good way.

Wow great episode - so many good bits from Rodriguez taking Joey , Claire stabbing Joe and the ending when they finally thought they had someone from the cult willing to help them only for her to attack the cop boss.

Hope the last 2 episodes are as good .

Well......this certainly looks as though it was designed to be a one season show. Also-

Called it.
