An edge-of-your-seat thriller about the complex relationship between diabolical serial killer Joe Carroll (James Purefoy) and the damaged FBI profiler, Ryan Hardy (Kevin Bacon), who once took him down. After Joe escapes, Hardy is reactivated and discovers that he is no longer just hunting one man, but a massive cult of serial killers created and manipulated during Carroll's time in prison. Kevin Williamson will write and executive-produce. Natalie Zea, Nico Tortorella, Jeananne Goossen, Shawn Ashmore, Adan Canto, Billy Brown, Kyle Catlett and Valorie Curry will also star.

I can't decide if this sounds good or really bad, but it has James Purefoy in so I'll be giving it a try!

This starts on Tuesday and must say I'm quite looking forward to it as I don't seem to have much quality TV to watch at the moment....

Purefoy and Bacon sounds like some kind of posh bacon sandwich.

Hmmm, bacon sandwich.

I believe Sky will be airing this a day after the US. The fact that Mr. Bacon and Mr. Williamson are involved is reason enough for me to tune in

Because of the cast and Fincher's involvement think it could be good. However I am a little unconvinced about Williamson as a script written. Outside of Scream he hasn't done much in film for me.

This is actually quite good, not mind blowing but definitely worth ahem following. My only reservation is that it may descend into a Silence of the Lambs knock off.

Anyone else find it funny that a show about serial killers found across the internet stars a lead who advertises super fast broadband in real life.

I really enjoyed this. Promising first episode. After twenty minutes I didn't know who I could trust. Hardy's romance with the wife is quite cliché. I just hope this doesn't become a common procedural with a new follower every week

Haha it's from True Blood; it's essentially a man exploding out of a woman's head ... feel free to make a 'mind blown' joke.

I really enjoyed it. Surprisingly gruesome for a mainstream FOX show. It'll be interesting to see how the concept plays out, but it is bolstered by the two strong leads. I just hope Purefoy doesn't spend the entire show sat in jail gloating...

Yeah, it was enjoyable enough. I like a bit of bacon - cured, smoked, streaky, or otherwise.

Really enjoyed the first episode. It went with a few wists I wasn't expecting. Even though the plot is way over the top Bacon and co are managing to keep it grounded. there is a danger it could get very silly very quickly but so far it has real promise.

I just hope they don't have an eye on extendng it out for several series. That seems to be a new trend thats killing many a good show.

Watched it and thought it was a massive pile of balls.

It's so cliched it made my teeth itch.

Purefoy said in an interview that Williamson has plot and ideas for 2 seasons. I assume though, if its a success, the studio will be wanting more seasons than that. I agree though, I'd prefer shows like this that should have a finite life to end sooner on a high rather than drag it out (Dexter, for example, I'm looking at you).

Really intrigued by this strategy of 15 episodes as opposed to 22-24 for a mainstream network show. They're kinda trying a cable show format/network show hybrid.

Oh, I loved the first episode. Pure, simple, escapist joy. Hard for a show like this to not be classed as cliched or derivative I suppose. If it keeps up the intrigue and intensity of that opener though, I'm sold. As someone else has mentioned though, if we descend into 'killer of the week' type stuff I'll soon tire. I can see it being more 3-4 episode arcs than one off 'procedural' though.

Damn good show in my opinion.

It was bugging me for ages who the younger cop was until I realised it was a filled out Iceman.

Really enjoyed the second episode. The 'Followers' aren't as good at being psychopathic as Purefoy is which is a shame.

Really good show and very distrubing as I`m sure there are people out there who idolise seriel killers. I don`t think though most high risk seriel killers in prison have access to the internet and mobile phones but they can receive visitors and I guess mail and could manipulate visitors from behind bars. I would think anyone who would follow him though would be more noticably unstable though. Couldn`t work out if the dectivtive giving him that book was upto something sinister or not. I`m hooked on the show unlike Kevin Bacons annoying 4G commercials where he is the centre of the universe and knows everything about UK popular culture.

That book was definitely big enough to hide something in, but I think the significance was that it was an Edgar Alan Poe collection.

I agree that it's very disturbing, in his interview with Empire James Purefoy said that he doesn't name those serial killers who influenced him that are still alive because he's aware of how egotistical they are. Thought it was really interesting would never have thought of it myself.

yeah I reckon that the female agent is up to no good and there's something in the book. I think the Bacon is on to her though, did you see the look he was giving her when she was talking about the cult when they were in the weird house together? She was getting right into it about the 'charismatic, handsome leader' until she shook herself out of it.

It was a bit telegraphed but still good. The other bit that didn't sit right was the fat cop cult member slithering out the lift like a ninja. No chance fatty.

Have to be honest, I wasn't too impressed with the first episode. I found it to be a bit silly, and some of the twists were so obvious it was almost spoof-like.

Will give it a go though.
