Guy Pearce-check, Tom Hardy-check...and , ahem, Shai LeBeouf...hope he doesn't spoil it for everyone

Saw it at the Edinburgh film fest, it's fine. It's a fairly traditional western set in the prohibition era. It has some nice performances from Tom Hardy and Guy Pearce, who is suitably unhinged as the villain, but it's predictable and how much you like it may depend on how much you care for Shia LaBeouf as the protagonist. Did laugh at the fact that despite being a period film, they managed to get product placements for Coke, Ford and Motorola in there.

What's it with Shia LaBeouf that many people are so negative about him?

He's just fine I think. Not bad and not so good either. Just OK.

He's an annoying, gibbering talent and charisma vacuum.

He also dated our lovely Carey Mulligan, which just isn't fair.
