1985 wasn't really a vintage year, probably this:

or this:

Meat Is Murder and Theatre Of Pain were decent too.

This song was the best thing about the year though

is well good as well. Best year ever.

1991 was pretty awesome, no-one's even mentioned Use Your Illusion 1 and 2, Nevermind or The Black Album yet. Depressing how young you all are though,

It was a poor year but I'd have Spear of Destiny's World Service just edging R.E.M.'s Fables of the Reconstruction.

If I was born in 1985. But I wasn't.

Surely you've both overlooked something? This classic slice of awesomeness was released in that year.

That said, had I been born in 1985 Whitney would be bumped into 2nd place by this ..................

But I was already 6 years old by the time this hit the world.

I believe Never Mind the Bollocks was released in my birth year but I never rated Sex Pistols much.

Woo-hoo another thread to make me feel ancient

Mine would have to be one of either:

or at a push

although I was more a fan of slightly later-era Floyd (Dark Side, Wish You Were Here)

I think I've just fallen for you.

Colour of Spring, Spirit of Eden and this is as good as a hat-trick of albums can get. Peerless.

Not to forget Mark Hollis' first and last solo album that followed Laughing Stock. He slapped the music world round the face and then vanished forever. Full respect.

My choices, first being a given:

I still don't think anyone's beat my double whammy of Marquee Moon and Never Mind The Bollocks. Apart from whoever it was who had The Cure. And Metallica. And...oh well, whatever, never mind (and that as well).
