I was put off by the fact that people with less than a brain cell shared between them raved about it at work. Although I suppose it's a good thing they're actually reading...

...how utter shite can become part of the cultural zeitgeist.

I'm going to write a book about pirates and giant robots fucking the back doors off each other while a mopey, monobrowed vampire and his dull-as-fucking-dishwater muse climb trees in the rain and write down what they see of the spectacle from a literal and philosophical standpoint. That's pretty much it from me <scratches head>

You get better stories in the letters section of Mayfair magazine. I don't get the difference between this and Mills & Boon. And the fact that people like Bret Easton Ellis are getting giddy about it's film adap makes me think it's another nail in the coffin of smart cinema.

This might be a shit book (I know because I've actually read it and I bet than none of the others commenters have. It really really is a shitty book. A lot of clichés, a lot of words being repeated over and over and over. It's very obvious that some bits and pieces are inspired but the rest is just kind of the glue between these pieces.) but it's not meant to be a good book, it's meant to be erotic and arousing. But they couldn't possibly make this into a good movie, not with only the current kinds of movies being made. They'd have to make it as explicit as Shame and that ain't never gonna happen.
