The studio announced they intend to make at least two more flicks exploring the lost Parker parents thread.

I imagine the majority of the cast will be tied to future installments (a very good thing in Garfield and Stone's case).

The mid-credits sequence of the last film was pretty ambigious but I would be surprised if Norman Osbourne didn't at least make an appearance for Amazing 2.

Irfan Khan vanished in the theatrical cut after the bridge set piece but a promotional shot of him and Lizard in the sewers could indicate he's still a player. He was intially rumoured to play a 'Proto-Goblin'. Perhaps he will play a larger role in part 2?

Everything seems to be set up for the Gwen Stacey/Green Goblin storyline.

Personally I'd like them to veer away from villians already tackled in the excellent Raimi flicks and go with Vulture or Mysterio.

*Edit - Thread title. Sony announced release dates for ASM 3 & 4

**Edit - Thread title. Sony Pictures announced spinoffs 'Venom' and 'Sinister Six'

It's been discussed in the review thread but it should be said again here; the plot of TASM was seriously damaged in the editing suite. I'd love to see a director's cut or something.

There's definitely stuff to build on for the trilogy, Norman Osbourne would have to appear at some stage and although I'd agree they should stay away from villains already touched upon I'd like to see Venom have a proper crack at Spidey

I'd also like to see Venom get another shot but it's honestly too soon for Spider-Man to be getting back into that black suit. After the fanboy backlash over Spider-Man 3  I can't see them going down that route again soon. Avi Arad has teased the idea of a Venom spin off for a while having said all this.
It will make sense to introduce Eddie Brock in the next flick providing Peter starts working for the Bugle.

Watched at the weekend and thought is was a great movie, far superior to the Rami movies. Garfield and Stone where excellent. They appear to be hinting that Peters powers where not just down to the bite, and that his dads rearch/experiments may have something to do with it?. My idea and hope was that Peter may have been born with a degenerative disease and his father used a serum based on his Spider research which worked on Peter and cured him, hence the bite when he visits Oscorp is just the catalyst for turning what was already in his genetics into full blown super powers?!. Id like to see Spidermans powers mutate and increase for next movie! he seemed a bit underpowered in this outing dont you think?.
I thought the Lizard was just OK, not great CGI. Personally Id like to see Goblin, Doc Oc and Venom done again, Im not a SM fanboy and the other SM villians are complete naff imo. Anyways,  it looks more likely we will see Norman Osbourne/ Green Goblin next!, could be good!?.

Not hugely surprised to see Sony are flirting with the idea of getting rid of Webb. It would make a continuing franchise (beyond the trilogy format) a little less jarring. With the level of studio input on 3 and Amazing in mind it would be a lot easier for them to just get a different director for each installment.
Since Raimi left the series I get the impression Sony are more comfortable with a producer-led approach (like Bond) to Spider-Man rather than the multi-film-single-storyteller take Chris Nolan has enjoyed with Batman.

The Mail has the first photos of Foxx in make up for Electro. Anyone care to state the obvious comparison?

I think he looks cool..........

Seriously, I quite like it. Given a bit of spit and polish and with all the CGI they will no doubt add, I think he'll look fine. He's also a damn sight better at the whole acting thing that the Governator!

I look at Foxx as Electro and all I see is Jeff Goldblum from 'Earth Girls Are Easy'.

I've only just seen him with the proper lighting and he does look quite intimidating! A lot more than if he was wearing a massive yellow face mask anyway....

Kinda looks like Mr. Freeze from Batman and Robin (I'm sorry...Don't kill me) but it's a better look than the one from the comic. I'm glaaad. Let's wait till we see Rhino though...that should be interesting

Not digging it either! I actually really like the last suit! actually looked like he might of made it himself and was nice change from Rami suits!. I could of lived with them going back to Rami suit but this one is just plain completely dreadful! Looks no better than the 1970s TV movie version. Also, either Garfield is either doing a Buffalo Bill or he ain't packing much!

I really like the new eyes. They feel right out of the comic book but the suit itself doesn't look like it'd stand much damage. ASM's suit looked tough and durable.

I bet the return to the Raimi styling's due to the reduced box office takings after the record breaking original trilogy.

agree on the ASM suit! I thought it looked kinda bad-ass and a bit sinister , much prefer the small eyes! this looks like a step back! we all know it wasn't the spidey suit causing the reduced box office! (naff Lizard! cough!)

I dont really get costume critiques.... though i did poke fun at Electro the finished product will surely be a great improvement. I dont mind the eyes, I think the costume looks ok. Though plain and simple id have rather they continued with Raimis spiderman.... at least follow spiderman into his 30s? Rather than restrict him to school or college.

That said though, I do think the drama aspects of ASM were quite strong.

I'm more worried about Foxx's Goofy impression, looks like they're taking very much travelled nerd gets powers and turns evil route at 200m/h, Foxx looks extremely nerdy here and looks extremely cool in his electro makeup. This new take is definitely aimed at younger audiences which is a shame

Weeeeel I see the very "nerdy" side of him definately and yeah, I can see there is evidently a massive change in his arc, but I dont think theres enough here to say its for younger audiences... certainly no less than ASM, which wasnt too far from the tone of the ones before hand.

I hope though that electros motivations are made clear in this film and not like the Curt Connors was last time.... "oh, i can turn into a lizard, guess ill turn everyone into lizards" or something.

Loving this shot. Seems like they're trying to capture that 'fun' spirit of the Spider-man books. [Source]
From the looks of the pre-CGI Rhino shots it might be that Giamatti will don a robotic suit (instead of the organic look they took with Lizard)?

Are there any pre CGI shots of Bridges in his Iron Monger suit online? I just discovered the Ultimate Spider-man comics have a robotic Rhino in place of the classic suit.
