 so apparently we're all heading towards a global ecological 'tipping point' after which there can be no going back to fix problems that lie ahead.
If the current global population keeps going up exponentially as it is and the dwindling resources keep vanishing surely things are gonna get pretty ugly at some point?...then theres the freakish weather we keep hearing about " the hottest/coldest/wettest/windiest since records began etc

So whats gonna happen ? are we all heading for the same fate as the inca's ? is science going to save us from ourselves ?
or maybe the aliens will come down and help us out

personally I cant wait to see what happens...good or bad.

I'm going to go out and waste a load of food and fresh water, burn a load of fossil fuels and club a baby seal in celebration of the fact that I exist in one of the last generations that'll be able to do so.

I like to think that if the world was going to come to an end I'd be really dignified about it, kinda like Maximilian Schell or Robert Duvall in Deep Impact.

I think I'd go and try and breath underwater. I've never tried it, I'm always too scared, so I'm not sure if I can or not.

jonson - are you old enough to have evolved gills?

Think of the irony if you discovered you could breathe underwater and just as you begin to enjoy yourself like a small child riding a dolphin or a whale, you get eaten by a great white shark. It would be a very apposite death for you, but also massively annoying.

Even in my limited time lurking, I have heard of this legend. It seems equally terrifying.
