This months theme, courtesy of Hozay, is....

In a Garden


you know the drill, take the theme and run with it, now not everybody has a garden, but there are parks and green spaces all around, hell you could probably find something in a window box that would make a decent shot, have at it.

1st 25
2nd 18
3rd 15
4th 12
5th 10
6th 8
7th 6
8th 4
9th 2
10th 1

If you get no votes, you get no points (like a DNF in F1)

If you choose to enter, you have 21 days to post a picture that you have taken that meets the above criteria

New Rules for 2012 - Photoshopping is limited to Global Edits (i.e. they apply to the whole photo, not to one specific part) and cropping only

Following on from "watergate" last month, if you enter a picture from a previous round of the competition, you will be asked to find and enter an alternate photo

Posting will finish on the 22nd of July
Voting will run from 22nd June to 29th july

Fuck it - I've been holding off entering this for a couple of days in the hope I can get a shot of a barn owl in flight at a decent bit of quality, but that seems to be nigh on impossible so I'll just enter this baby

I keep trying to get a picture of one of the frogs in my pond. Buggers keep hopping off though when I get anywhere near!

I had a great picture of some of the frogs in our pond from about two years ago, but I can't seem to find it now.

I was thinking of using a frog shot too or a bug. I have a heap of flower shots I could use too I guess.

 Well i had a choice between two types of beasties in my garden to choose from, and went with this ( after serious laminations over wanting a new lens !) Global edits: crop/ wee bit of contrast & saturation. Here is ....

Yeah, great stuff so far.
I am thinking of buying myself a new camera this weekend, something to take on holiday with me, light, compact but with a bit of zoom and clarity, I have a small Sony Cybershot, about 6mega pixels, so only an average snap and shoot, but I would like something a bit better.
Not that this is the thread for camera discussions, just making an excuse in case I enter something really bad

Jonson, the Canon Powershor S100 is a great point and shoot and much more, pricey but v good.

Snapped before I destroyed their home (), mowing my overgrown front lawn, on my Galaxy phone.

Contrast, colour and brightness global edits, as well as a border.

Edit: they're probably grasshoppers, not crickets, but the pun works better with crickets...

 I've had a bit of time on my hands so went out and took a bunch of shots for this month's theme. Too many, it took me a week to narrow it down to three and now finally one but I'm still not sure.
It's Winter here so .......

Edit: Forgot to say I used a Universal edit and very slightly sharpened the image.
