maybe they shouldve cast the guy who plays the Engineer from Prometheus

Good call but perhaps too blue, too bald.

And too busy playing Gregor Clegane in Game of Thrones

I'd have gone with Titus Pullo himself - Ray Stevenson!

But it's all about commerciability and The Cruiser looks like he's thrown himself into the role. I'm a fan of the books and I can't wait.

Rick Moranis (5ft 4")??

Ok, Cruise may be a bit on the short side, but he has a massive screen presence and as mentioned earlier in the thread - he also has mahoosive balls! You can be short and still be physically imposing at the same time, and he's pretty buff too!! None of the other actors mentioned (Ray Stevenson, Jeffery Dean Morgan, Josh Lucas etc) have anywhere near as much screen presence as cruise - no matter how tall they are!

If you want to talk big casting mistakes waiting to happen, look no further than Ryan Reynolds as Highlander!! I mean - come on!! Gerard Butler anyone?.....anyone?

Jackman should be Reacher, Cruise should be Wolverine. Problem solved.

never read a book but all my friends who have have said the casting of cruise is a joke and will be avoiding. i will be avoiding because of one tom cruise. Is he really that big a draw anymore? rock of ages didnt exactly set the box office on fire. Im pretty sure they could have found just as good an actor who was the right height

" guys its ok, he just wanted his machette back"!!
