Yep we are all fully aware that the Academy has got it wrong. Many, many times. Especially in the '80s!

So I propose we set about putting the Oscars the way they should have been with this thread.

Rules

I will post the list of the 5 main category's for the chosen year.

For each category, each person will get the chance to remove a nominee and replace with a nominee of their choice or replace the winner with one of the nominees. You can't remove the Winner in one go, they have to be swapped to the nominess category.

You can only make one change in each category for each year.

You must lead on from the changes the poster before you has made (not from the original nominees).

Use a Bold font to let us know the change you have made and list who you have removed from the category.

You can re-vote for a nominee if they have been taken off the list by a previous poster.

You don't have to make a change in every category if you are happy with how it looks.

I will choose a year by random and then when after a satisfactory amount of changes has been made will lock that year and choose a different year.

If in doubt as to whether a film is eligible for that year, use IMDb as a reference and remember that the Academy is the year after a chosen film, i.e. films made in '94 will be eligible for the '95 Academy Awards.

Remember you can only vote once so choose wisely when to jump in and make a change!

Hope all that's not too confusing, I'll do a little example of how it should run:

1988

BEST FILM
Winner: The Last Emperor

Broadcast News
Fatal Attraction
Hope and Glory
Moonstruck

First poster thinks Moonstruck is crap so removes it and replaces with Full Metal Jacket:

BEST FILM
Winner: The Last Emperor

Broadcast News
Fatal Attraction
Full Metal Jacket
Hope and Glory

removed: Moonstruck

Next poster thinks Princess Bride should be in there so removes Fatal Attraction:

BEST FILM
Winner: The Last Emperor

Broadcast News
Full Metal Jacket
Hope and Glory
The Princess Bride

removed: Moonstruck, Fatal Attraction

Next poster thinks The Last Emperor should be off the list but can't remove straight away so swaps the winning position with Full Metal Jacket:

BEST FILM
Winner: Full Metal Jacket

Broadcast News
Hope and Glory
The Last Emperor
The Princess Bride
removed: Moonstruck, Fatal Attraction

Next poster might be happy with the way that looks so doesn't vote in this category but votes in the Acting category's.

All make sense? First year coming up....

Guys you can make one change in each category (Film, Actress, Director, etc.) you don't have to just make one change in one category.
