 Here we go with an attempt at resuscitating the old Screenwriting Challenge, but with a twist. This time around, entrants have to simply write one scene; in this case, the opening scene to a James Bond film.

Everyone's favourite secret agent/sex pest, Mr James Bond, is taking a break from the usual quiet posh spots he normally frequents. He's in New York. Manhattan, to be precise. And he has to recover a briefcase. Just because. What happens when he's there, the contents of the briefcase (if you wish to divulge), all of that is down to you. All that matters is:

  • The scene takes place in Manhattan
  • Bond leaves with a briefcase he didn't arrive with

 So glad we extended this deadline, I'm still not finished my first draft. This has become more work than I thought. I guess I thought one scene wouldn't be too hard, but never considered that these types of openings go on longer than most.

Aw crap, I actually forgot all about this. I did fully intend on submitting something too but got caught up in prerp for a short film I shot earlier this week. Gutted.

You were my best friend! Lol. Fair enough. I think deadlines for these kind of things are hard to figure out - too soon and people won't get finished in time, too far away and people forget. Although I don't think would've mattered much anyway.

I started writing something but it just got forgotten about. I'm so sorry. I really want to resurrect this too. Can't believe no one submitted anything either. Shame on them!
