Struggling to see past The Dark Knight. I can't think of a better film that was once a tv show.

I wouldn't count The Dark Knight as Batman started as a comic. Although it did used to be a show that is true and is what the OP asked. I'll just go ahead and pick ones based on a show

I'd say The Fugitive, The Naked Gun or the Mission Impossible films except the second, which I hate.

Actually based on a tv show, I'd go for Mission Impossible 1 narrowly edging out 3.

Naked Gun is a good shout. Or The Brady Bunch Movie because I love it.

Also, I have a soft spot for the Sesame Street movie: Follow That Bird. I would include Muppet Movies, but they take the characters out of the movie theatre setting of the show. In fact, the latest movie, The Muppets is closer to actually being based on the show than the other films. Its more of a sequel to the show than the others are anyway.

The Addams Family, a superb film that copies the original series well and makes it slightly darker and more twisted, great stuff.

I'd say the sequel was much better just for Christina Ricci's smile after sitting through hours of Disney. I absolutely love that scene.

I'm kinda torn between Star Trek 2 and Serenity (this probably edges it). Star Trek (2009) is also great.

Yup, I'd agree with Star Trek (II and 2009) and Serenity.

I have a soft spot for Charlie's Angels.
I thought it was utter gash when I saw it at the cinema, I thought it was silly and I didn't get it, but subsequent viewings with brain swicthed off, it's great fun.

Also the Peter Cushing Dr Who and the Daleks. I was a massive Dr Who fan as a child (Tom Baker doctor, everyone has their own ) and it shit me up no end.

Serenity was a big surprise for me as I'd never seen the TV series, made me realize what I had missed.
Tracked down the Series and watched them all in quick time.
The first and third Mission Impossible movies were quite solid. I loved that show as a kid.

And seeing above - I never knew the Naked Gun was a series. I'll have to track that down too.
Some of the Star Trek movies have been good (others not so much) same with Batman.
The Twilight Zone movie was good although made years after the original series.
The A-Team movie was alright too but not a bar on the series which was a lot of fun in it's day.

Most that have been said, and I need to add The Inbetweeners Movie. I thought it was excellent.
