EDIT: Also imagine the guys in my gif singing along to Cars.....a couple of months before the song was released, but still. They're famous, they got an advanced copy. Although that particular clip is part of the origin story so it would have been set before 1979 but they're Muppets, they're like magic and shit, right? What do you mean 'no'? I've been thinking they're magic for the past 30 years, how else do you explain the fact they haven't aged?! WHAT DO YOU MEAN THEY'RE JUST PUPPETS????????

Can't have a Numan-related thread without one of the most awesome tracks (and videos) of last year:

Friends was shot on 35 mm which is a photo-chemical process which involves the absorption and reorganization of electromagnetic radiation (ie, light) to create a visible image.

I thought it was shot before a studio audience...

Shooting a studio audience is frowned upon.

I flipping love Gary Numan.

We have a random on the westside
Personality malfunction
He says I cant give you anything at all
Just a room with a bad view of you
He sent a letter to a downstat
Saying sorry that I missed you
But I cant think of anything to do
Hes addicted to the time track

I really liked Numan until I saw him life and he was shit. Five synths is too many synths, Gary

Loved the b-side of that single, Numan's electronic interpretation of the first movement of Satie's Trois Gymnopedies.

I have most of his early work in my collection, from the Thats Too Bad/Bombers 7" double-pack single from back in the days when Numan still went by the name Valeriun and Tubeway Army were a 3-piece, to Music For Chameleons.  Hell, I even bought Paul Gardiner's solo single Stormtrooper in Drag because Numan was involved! I've also got the eponymous debut Tubeway Army album in blue vinyl somewhere in the box. Yep, I was a big fan   Kinda went off him once he started showing signs of becoming a jazz-funk act in the early-mid 80s.

Used to listen to Trois Gymnopedies more than the A side A lovely interpretation to a very familier tune.

I really like his recent stuff. Its very nine inch nails esque.

Jagged and Dead Son Rising are both great albums.
