My mum drinks black tea. All started a few years ago when she was dieting and found there were no calories in black tea or coffee. I like black coffee and I'm quite partial to black tea, as long as it has a slice of lemon in it.

Although this is just another thing to add to that list of cancer giving things. The way things are right now, I might as well go back to smoking and wear a Plutonium suit.

People who drink their tea black are wrong.

Pretttty much. My boss does it at work and I just find it a bit weird really. I get why you would drink black coffee (though i don't because it tastes awful) but I just don't really understand with tea.

The black tea being referred to in the article isn't tea with no milk in it is it? I though "black tea" was the proper name for the sort of tea most people drink every day.

I assumed we were talking about tea with no milk yeah. I didn't bother reading the article about tea giving you cancer though, I'm not crazy.

That's the stuff. It is an apparently a more oxidised form which holds its flavour longer than green tea (although being a godawful flavour I would think it fading would be a good thing )

He's always busy these days with his "life" and his "job" and his "girlfriend". He occasionally texts me Morrissey lyrics though, and points me to Orson Welles related things on the internet which is nice.

Tell him to come back and finish his Morrissey list in audiophile. Then he can leave.

And the reason I drink my tea black is that I can't abide milk.

Milk is disgusting and evil. Unless the evil is removed while using it to make something else.

He doesn't text me lyrics. He doesn't have my phone number, but that's not the point.

According to this video, drinking Earl Grey (among other foods and beverages) tea reduces the risk:

Oh that`s alright then I mostly drink Earl Grey tea when I can anyway.

Everything gives you cancer, the buttons I'm pressing now are probably increasing the risk as I live n breathe! Just inhaled some oxygen right there...that's gotta be a lung full of cancer just waiting to spawn throughout me, riding a bike...that's another dangerous one, I'm pushing my luck.

Smoking is probably ironically the one thing that doesn't give you cancer anymore LOL! or not as higher risk...I jest slightly of course.
