Hook and Indy 4.  Hook is the better of the two because at the very least it doesn't feel like two separate films stitched together like Indy 4 does.  What happened to the FBI guys?  That felt like it was going to turn into an interesting sub plot.

Worst Spilerberg movie? It's been ages since I posted on this thread, and at least two films have come out since then, so I would now have to say

Lincoln is easily his worst film!

Think this belongs in the unpoplaur opinion thread

He has done far worse than Lincoln. The Colour Purple, Munich and Indy 4 for example.

Why, oh why, is there so much hate for Munich? Again, I think it's a masterpiece. Sure, it's a matter of opinion but I genuinely don't understand how anyone could hate it.

Agree with this. That scene was bloody awful.

From the moment he got into a fridge to avoid the nuclear blast, that did it for me. I just hated the rest of the film on principle.

Yeah, it seems that everyone has their different breaking points with that movie. I was fairly enjoying it but, again, that scene with the monkeys was where it lost me.

If 1941 and Hook are to be considered "crimes against cinema" then at the very least they're crimes of passion. With this movie, however, from the monkey-swinging on, it has to be the most anonymous stuff I've seen from Spielberg. Painfully obvious that his heart wasn't in it.

And it's even more painful when you think about what could have been with Darabont's script. That fucking George Lucas. I'm honestly surprised some angry fanboy hasn't assassinated him already. I'm not hinting at anything about myself, I'm just saying that it wouldn't be a huge shock considering how angry some of these people are.

WOTW is not Speilbergs worst film.

But it does contain the worst ENDING to any of his films.

For me it's got to be Empire of the Sun. Such a wonderful book having its heart ripped out on screen was just awful.

Haha I was meant to quote 'Mr. Gittes' with my post above.
Nevermind

In my opinion, Jurassic Park: The Lost World, is Spielberg's worst film

I loved Jurassic Park, and I think Julianne Moore is a great actress, but 'The Lost World' was pretty rubbish

Also, I can't believe Indy 4 is recieving so much crap, I love that film! (Not as much as the others though)

Yeah The Lost World is pretty bad.

Just a literal repeat of the first movie and that third act with the T-rex in the city was just silly.

Even Indy 4 is better than Lost World.

In no particular order.
Munich
Lincoln
Minority Report
War of the worlds
A.I
The Lost World.
Of all the films i've seen with him as director, those are pretty bad.

Have no issue with Temple of Doom becames it works on the level of a big, dumb, b-movie which is what the Indy films are supposed to be in the first place.

Minority report 8/10
War of the Worlds 7/10
A.I. 7/10

The only good bit of TLW (apart from the always magnificent Pete Postlethwaite) is the bit with the cracking windscreen... and the scenes with the randomly wandering T-rex (who seems to have gotten into suburbia without anyone noticing) is something that even Michael Bay would have gone 'OK, that's taking the piss out of the audience...'

Bit hard to say really, very few directors have a 100% strike rate on good films, at the moment Ben Affleck has that with his 3 films, although Argo is the weakest of the 3 and even then it was good.

The Glass cracking was the only memorable and decent bit!

Yeah I know that no directors are 100% And yes Ben Affleck is doing a great job,
But there are many directors who have maybe one or two bad films and the rest are great!
Just like Steven Spielberg, Martin Scorcese and Paul Thomas Anderson.

And in my opinion, Gone Baby Gone is Affleck's weakest, yet I still think it is a fantastic and intense crime-drama
