 Someone I work with who openly admitted that the last book she read was Da Vinci Code about 5 years ago has recently been saying how she wants to read this, she came in today proclaiming it 'the best book evar!!!' (not a typo, imagine someone pronouncing it that way), and proceeding to read it at lunch letting out random sighs. Now I'm all for stuff that gets people reading again, but stuff thats evolved from Twilight fan fic should never be declared the best anything.

 This book needs to disappear now. Girl on facebook says she read all three in just over a week. I'm sorry, but if you can read three books of their size in just over a week? I doubt there's much valuable content within them

I'm becoming more and more curious though and my best friend told me she's read it (my best friends favourite author is Oscar Wilde...), but she doesn't know if she liked it or not. Now I feel like I should read it so we can trash it together, but I honestly can't see me ever getting any of those badly written sex scenes out of my brain.

I made the mistake of buying this. I read it for about half an hour and it's utter dross. It's a shame that it's dominating the best seller lists because an avalanche of cash-in crap is on its way. Does it come as a surprise when a few years ago The Guardian reported that Britain's best selling author of the year was Katie Price.

 I also seem to be having my Facebook news stream filled with women swooning and fawning over these books.  From what I've read about them, they do sound like absolute bilge!

What boggles my mind is, when they were still Twilight fan fiction, did it basically involve Bella and Edward (having never read or watched the source material, I'm ashamed to know the names...) getting up to all this filth, or did that come later (titter)?

I have to wonder what kind of mind takes a kids/teens book at warps it into erotica/porn/whatever it is??  Probably not a million miles away from me writing some Noddy fan-fic, in which Noddy and Big Ears indulge in a spot of fisting, while PC Plod uses his truncheon as a buttplug!

I think it happens with pretty much everything - some odd fan has got to take the fiction to extremes of S&M, the lot - no matter how mild the show/film/book.

Well, to be fair, I read the first six Harry Potter books in about two weeks. Mind, I was working evenings at a betting shop with no customers so that helped...

I'm sick of hearing about this series already. Not surprised that there is talk of a film. I wonder if any of the actors approached will realise that it'll do to their reputation what Twilight did to Kristen Stewart's. Nobody hated her before she started playing Bella. I read somewhere that the people in charge are hoping to get Blake Lively for the female lead.

 An update on the facebook mums who fill up my boyfriends timeline.

I've just re-read books 1 and 2! Looking forward to re-reading number 3!

They are re-reading them now?! How can you read the same book twice in such a short space of time?!

The only books I've ever tended to re-read are the Harry Potters and I've read The Time Travellers Wife and Wuthering Heights a few times now. But that's over a period of time. Not three or so weeks!

 I'm currently disowning my family at an alarming rate due to this "book". Thanks to a couple of facebook updates by my sisters this week I've become an only child. At this rate I'll be single and have been brought up by my dad in a single parent household within a week .

 I was in Asda today and there was a sign apologising for these books, but then I read closer and it was apologising for the lack of these books. The some staff member came along with a box that must have had about 150 copies. I was tempted just to see if they are that bad.
