Guinea pig in Peru. What I particularly liked about that was that it was served as a whole guinea pig, which put the wife right off her meal

Did it have a sad smile on its face?

How did it taste?

Couldn't put the image in, but should be here ]http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Roast_Guinea_Pig.jpg it looked like that.

Tasted like chicken Well, more like duck I'd have said, but not as tasty and more chewy.

No one mentioned oysters yet. They are pretty weird in fairness. Also, if you fry stuff in enough garlic then it seems to take away any reservations. I give you for example, cow's stomach or tripe. Doesn't look at all appetising. Slice it thin, fry it up with a load of garlic and its pretty okay.

Oysters are great with lot's of lemmon and I've found if you don't chew too long or in fact at all. I'm bloody hungry now.

Kangaroo meat! That's the other one I was thinking of. I went to a restaurant a few years ago where they gave you a selection of steaks which you could cook yourself on a superheated slab of volcanic rock. I had Ostrich, Kangaroo and I think the third was Sirloin.

Ostrich and Sirloin were lovely, but the Kangaroo steak tasted a bit too salty to me.

They must have had big windows.............................................................................................. 'cos they saw you coming

You never tried a hot stone restaurant?  It's a great way to enjoy a nice piece of meat - you slice it thin, then cook each slice exactly to your own taste.  And it's good fun.

Ha ha, I have tried it. It was really good fun. I just wanted to use my big windows quote

It's only weird if you have fruit on it i.e. pineapple

I agree, oysters with lemon and tabasco are lovely. I don't think I have the stomach to try balut but I'd give snails a try if I ever saw them on a restaurant menu.

The weirdest thing I've eaten would probably be roasted bone marrow on toast, which was yummy
