A question came to my mind: will The hobbit have the same results as Prometheus did?
Many many people didn't like Prometheus, many thought it was so awful that they said they wasted their money going to wactch it at cinema. Many reviews were below the expected and the income is not surprising, even I wasn't that much surprised with it. With that said my question is will Hobbit have the same results as prometheus? They are both prequels made by the same directors that made the classics, so what do you think?

You can only judge a film once you've seen it.

I wouldn't call The Hobbit a prequel because... well, it came first. (I wouldn't personally call Prometheus a prequel either, but I suppose that's more a case of personal opinion.) Based on that, I'm not sure how comparable the two are. People already know The Hobbit, so there won't be any discussion on whether it lives up to LOTR story-wise (at least, no discussion that hasn't already been going on for quite a while!) Prometheus, on the other hand, was an unknown quantity: early reviews suggested it could be seen as a prequel to Alien if you felt like it, so naturally the world expected another Alien. When expectations are that high (especially when the plot is unknown to the audience), a film has a lot further to fall.

I expect The Hobbit will do pretty well. I'm sure there will be plenty of people who don't like it/think it isn't as good at LOTR, but personally I don't forsee very much controversy. The story is well known, and the production team is proven - unless they've made any very odd (and secret) decisions, I think The Hobbit is a pretty safe bet to do well.

The Hobbit is guaranteed to be good. The problems with Prometheus were in the script, but The Hobbit already has proven source material. So no problems there whatsoever.
