I freakin' hate He-Man. Never worked in the cartoons for me, let alone that stupid film.

By the power of Greyskull...

Hope it's a million times better than that bag of shit they made with Dolph. I remember going to see that in the cinema when I was a kid and being like "What the...?!"
With any luck it'll have the moral at the end:

Remember kids, Skeletor learned an important lesson today...Don't fuck with He-Man!

Nostalgia. That's the word. I friggin' loved He-Man when I was younger. It was pure and simple 80s cheese, and that's what is so great about it all.

I HAVE THE POWER!

'this is cringer my fearless friend'

I loved Heman, used to run around the house when I was three shouting Heman Heman I have the POWER!!!!! Used to really annoy my older brothers!

I watched it the other day with my friend who had bought the DVD and Heman even though it still rocks didnt realise how many shots of his arse were in the cartoon!

Bring on He-Man and the Masters of the Universe. As long as they dont make it as a childrens film it will be good. By the Power of Greyskull and all that. And dont set it on earth like master of the Universe (80's) was!

If the studios are only interested in remakes, may I suggest 'Hell comes to frog town'

Moviehole spoke to executive producer Rodney Ferrell (Flicka), of Fox 2000, who said that studio has let the rights to He-Man go.

"This was a project set up at Fox," said Ferrell, "but in the recent months we gave the project back to Mattel and are no longer involved."

In October of 2004, it was reported that Fox 2000 had set
John Woo to direct and produce a new live-action film based on the characters in Mattel's "Masters of the Universe" line of action figures.

Originally made into an animated series in 1983, the property was also adapted into a live-action film in 1987 called Masters of the Universe, which starred Dolph Lundgren as the
hero and Frank Langella as Skeletor.

Well i'm excited. Watched some of the series on dvd a while ago and it;s still great. I had all the figures as a kid! Lets forget about the awful Dolph Lundren film and hope this redeems itself

Dunno, the second adaptation of a cartoon based on a toy doesn't really light any fires for me. However if they can incorporate this into it count me in...

There's a new script apparently, and according to Aintitcool and Latino Review, it's the script fan boys have been waiting for.

Skelator will probably be CG.

Nothing can top Frank Langella, greatest 80s sci-fi/fantasy villain after Darth Vader (in my opinion).

Ya know, as sad as people may think it is, the He-Man universe could make a fuckin ACE movie though.
As cheesy as the cartoon was, an update (certainly of He-Man himself) could really work. Today's effects and designs could easily make a great movie from some of the characters. As always though, it was the villains that all looked the best!

BUT, if they can capture more of THIS kind of look -
http://www.madhattersneverland.com/checklists/ActionFigures/MOTU_Checklist/images/chase_Trapjaw.jpg
http://www.casefresh.com/mastersoftheuniverse/imagesstatues/clawful.jpg
http://www.fourhorsemen.biz/images/features/skeletor-statue/close.jpg

...and treated it seriously, there is NOTHING stopping this becoming a really great Sword and Sorcery movie.
I think it could really work myself.

Didn't look fake at all to me and I think it still holds up (his performance may be a factor here).

I agree. It's no secret that I love Langella's performance in the film, and I thought the mask he had to wear was effective. Allowed him to be more articulate, and I still think it looks rather good today.

As for this new film currently being planned, I'm looking forward to it. I've heard numerous times that it's gonna be done 300 style, which sounds good to me. Jason Lewis could play He-Man and Guy Pearce (mo-capped) could play Skeletor.
