I don't understand how young and inexperienced De Gea gets so much criticism when Cech and Reina who are both very experienced get away with it.

I think most fans will say that Cech's form dropped significantly after the head injury and that Reina had those years when he had the golden gloves in the PL, but has dropped off in recent years.

It still remains to be seen if Ferguson thinks De Gea is good enough for Utd and in particular whether he feels he needs a keeper at the top of their game now, or one who might be there in a few years time. I can see Ferguson looking at this very simply. Where did we lose in 2012. We lost by goal difference, so we bring in RvP. What has been the weakness this season? We are mid-table in goals conceded, so let's get a new goalie.

It baffles me when people say Reina is world class; he's always been prone to stupid mistakes. I don't understand how young and inexperienced De Geae gets so much criticism when Cech and Reina who are both very experienced get away with it.

I'd say Reina used to be world class but has dropped in standard over the last few years. He seems to make more mistakes than before and costing us more points. Before, he did make the odd mistake but then every keeper does. De Gea makes mistakes but the guy is only young. He should be given more of a break.

Agree. Liverpool need a new keeper for next season undoubtedly, I have lost faith in Reina over the last few seasons, he's costing Liverpool too many points now. De Gea is an interesting one for Man Utd, as he will be wanted by a lot of the top clubs in Europe (particularly the big two in Spain) and could very well bite them in the backside if they were to let him go. I would take De Gea in a hearbeat at Liverpool as imo he's in the top three in the world in terms of shot-stopping already. Ok he can improve on crosses, but there's very few keepers that are excellent on those these days, they are taught to punch and punching out can go wrong.

Just watched the highlights of the West Brom game. I think that sending off was a bit harsh on Popov. His mam used to sneeze on people all the time in Rentaghost and there was never this much fuss.

They are back in it

I saw something earlier about Harry saying that a big club had already asked about Samba. That's right Harry, big him up cos QPR will be desperate to sell in about 3 months time.

Its funny you should use a tennis analogy, as that makes me think of Flushing Meadow, which is exactly the same noise as QPR can hear as they swirl around the bowl of being dumped out of the Premiership. Harry out!

There's only one team here that looks like they're challenging for the league... and it ain't City!

I really, really had hoped that the PL would be an exciting 3-way race this season. Can't believe that Utd have it tied up by the middle of Feb. They might have only lost 3 all season, but I can see City finishing 4th at this rate. Chelsea could cut the difference to 1 in the next game and the team looks low on confidence and spirit.

Apparently Ferguson was planning on making a number of changes on Sunday, but after City lost he decided to put out the strongest team he could to try to tie the league up. He's a winning streak that runs through him wider than the Grand Canyon.

The media (like last season) are tempting fate already in proclaiming Manchester United as champions.
I cant see United bugging this up,though I thought the same last season.

12 games remaining and Utd have to lose 4 of them. Plus, can you see City putting in a title-winning streak now?

Sport is never over till its over, but I bet every Utd player can remember the bollocking they got last season and wont want that again
