Going by the curse of the versus title alone, this sounds naff. Add the synopsis and? Well, still sounds pretty naff.

It does sound silly, but it's right up Barker's alley. The Books of Blood contain some really 'out there' stories (some using real events), but leave it to Clive Barker to dig deep and make it interesting and, well, disturbing.

I remember many moons ago when I had a couple of Clive Barker's 'Tortured Souls' action figures (absolutely disgusting looking cenobite type things), and there was a bit of prose with each figure, all about the sinister underbelly of Rome's decadent nature. I'm sure that was optioned for a movie, but then what isn't? Anyway, it's something he's clearly been interested in for a while. That said, he's not exactly the world's greatest filmmaker/screenwriter and that title smacks of mockbluster shitefest.

I have a script on the Amazon Studios website, so this is good news. Zombies Vs Gladiators does seem the strongest script there at the moment (next to mine of course!) and I'd like to see it as a movie. I just hope some movies actually get made from that website and that's it's not just Development Hell for wannabes.
