 ...to earn your monies?

I know some of you may be out of work currently, but for those of you in part time or full time employment, what do you do, or want to do?

I run a service desk for a company that sell Methadone distribution equipment www.medilogicuk.com , i have minions that i send around our various customer sites all over the UK (sometimes i have to go) and we field support calls from our customers that have issues.

Due to data protection, i can't tell you who our customers are, but they dispense Methadone, so pharmacies. Also, did you know every prison has a pharmacy within it...

On a scale of 1-10 how bad is it that whenever I read a reference to masturbation I immediately think of that cum box from the Reddit thread a little while ago?



Oh yeah, I take money from the elderly in exchange for clothing. Sometimes they're nice, sometimes I feel the urge to dress up as Death and follow them around everywhere after they leave...

 I'm a secondary English and media studies teacher.

Best job I've ever had (seriously, and I've had a lot of jobs). Not far behind it was my part time job in Waitrose when I was a student.

 I run a website, which is where most of my $ comes from. As well as that I lecture on film at a couple of universities, and do a bit of programming for independent cinemas and organisations of that ilk. I was also in a moderately successful band a few years ago, and still get royalties from that on a quarterly basis too.

 I'm the Music Administrator for a major religious establishment. I basically administrate the, uh, music? I get to work in a mediaeval gatehouse, which is pretty cool. It's like a real job and stuff. I've worked in call centres (one of hundreds doing the same), a large office (one of a few dozen doing the same), my last job I was one of 4 doing the same, and now I'm the only person that does my job in this company. I get an office, which is kinda cool. It also means that for the first time EVER, I have a Monday to Friday 9-5 job, and I get Bank Holidays off. Hence me still being up at twenty to 1 on a weekday...

I also sing professionally, which affords me such niceties as going on tour to Italy, singing on Radio 3, and so forth.

 I write subtitles for television programmes, both live and prerecorded. Our big clients are ITV and Channel 5, but we do some stuff for Sky.

It can be a very interesting job, depending on what programmes you get allocated, but the flipside can be having three Jeremy Kyle Shows in a row to subtitle as well as focusing on local news across the country which can be incredibly dull.

Due to the live nature of our job, we work a fairly bizarre working pattern which can be a pain and we never, ever get Bank Holidays off which is annoying, but on the whole I enjoy it.

 I'm a stay-at-home dad. I don't get paid for it but I do save us about two grand a month in childcare which my previous salary just couldn't cover. My wife's the brainy one, ie the one with the career. I'm the one with feckless unrealised ambitions to be a published writer.

At the moment I'm a shop assistant in a high street clothes store (said shop is known for searching the internet for what employees have been saying, so better not say the name...) It's rubbish. In September I'm leaving to train as a primary school teacher though - I'm going to get bank holidays back!*



*This is not my only motivation for teaching. But it helps.

i think that scores infinity.

I work p/t at Tesco and full time student. Customer service is gruelling challenge but it winds me up when people comment I am taking away someones hours who would work full time instead of me.....doesnt quite work like that!

 I work for a charity that helpes young (16-25) homeless people. I'm basically the admin dogsbody. I do a bit of marketing, a bit of accounts, a smidge of HR and a lot of general administration. It's shit but it keeps a roof over my head.

I currently work for a Building Society. My actual role is working on the quality team for account openings, mostly online applications, including ISA products. Basically I check people are opening accounts and paying in funds correctly and all that sort of stuff, and sometimes correct errors, depending how small. A big error requires grovelling apologies have to be made to customers, especially if they notice a mistake has been made before we do.

We don't check everything, unless it's new staff members who are 100% checked until they reach the required quality level, blah, blah, blah

Before that I worked for a big Back to Work training company under the old New Deal contract that Labour had. Most of my time was spent in an admin capacity, but I did have a couple of spells as an 'Employment Coach' which was fun....

 I'm a research assistant at the Law School I study at, meaning I do menial research for the lecturers and compile their course materials, as well as a tutor in Political Science at the same university. I'm also making my debut as a playwright next month with a commissioned work for a youth festival, so I got some pay for that and will be getting royalties (sizable for a student) once the run finishes.

It's so much better than making fucking coffee, I tell you now.
