A deserving winner - the only country to have both entries make my 10. Congrats Gimli, this makes up wonderfully for Van Helsing!

Thanks for doing this Elab, I've really enjoyed it. Any chance we could do something similar for, say, Asian territories or something ?

I'd be willing. I'll have a look to see if I can suggest a list of films to choose from.

A worthy winner - congrats Gimli!

Ireland didn't do too badly - perhaps, I should have nominated the Father Ted boxset...

Pfft, we of the Republic are most disappointed with Europe and are taking our Pilsner, removing our pantofle and going home to eat carp.

Cheers Elab

UK? Bah!!! Them & that Aardman trump card.

Congrats Gimli.

Didn't vote for TWT myself as I felt it was a bit unfair comparing a wonderful short to 21 full-length features - plus I knew it was going to attract votes like bees to honey.

Dartmoor was excellent though.

In general though we should totally do this again sometime. Already I'm liking the prospect of the Asianvision contest.

Would it be feasible to just go east from the border of the Eurovision countries, straight across to Japan? It gives a wider choice. We could add Australia - they're always desperate to join in!

Definitely. I bagsy Iran!

If New Zealand are to be included, we should declare LOTR as American films.

Doing one for North/Central/South America would be ace as well (although I would suggest ruling out Hollywood productions).

I knew I shouldn't have gone with In A Better World but still, a worthy winner!

I'm also up for this.

I bagsy South Korea! (I swear I won't include Gangnam Style. But I might.)

That's the most wrong I've ever seen someone be on this forum. And both Gimli and Elab post here.

I actually liked it. Sure it's sentimental, a bit contrived & not as strong as the rest of the entries, but it's a well performed, engaging enough drama & that kid at the end brought a tear to my eye.

I like In a Better World a lot (and I chose it for the Oscar), and it wasn't that far out of my votes. It just didn't quite get there because there were so many other films I liked.

Same here; I gave In A Better World a solid 8/10, but there were too many 10s and 9s in the round!

Do I need to give a speech or something?

I'm very surprised. I figured W&G would be popular, not so much that'd it'd help the UK win.

Thanks for this, elab! I'd certainly be willing to join in any others.
