Yeah, there is going to be a number two.I think Ridley is doing it before the Blade Runner sequel ().

On Prometheus,it fluctuates between genius and darn right silliness.

I wouldn't hold your breath for the sequel. I will be absolutely amazed if it happens, more so if Ridley himself is at the helm. This one will be quietly forgotten by Fox Imo.

Scott:
"Prometheus 2 is written... Prometheus was a great experience for me. Chasing number two, we can start evolving the grand idea."

Obviously he doesn't give much away with regards if he's going to be in the Directors chair but I presume he would be.
If he isn't then that's in itself would be interesting.

Similar thoughts could be applied concerning his Blade Runner sequel comments.
"Yeah, we're working on [Blade Runner 2] right now - that will happen sooner or later."

Man if Prometheus 2 actually happens i will be so stoked. I was 100% sure that Fox would just let this be forgotten about and murmurings recently seem to point to it being more than just a possibility. Please let us have a sequel!

I was very disappointed with Prometheus. It looked great, the characters were good and there were some excellent moments but I expected something better. I'm not against the idea of a sequel though, mainly because I want to know what the fuck the first was about.

Prometheus destroyed any sense of mystery it was trying to create by showing us the Engineers seeding the planet in the opening scene.

What followed was a film that was a beautiful but devenomised, resolving in an anti-climax with almost zero payoff.

It's not without merit. But it is sloppy.

I really like the film and I like how it relates to Alien a little. Other people who I know who have seen this, don't understand the film though. I can't explain it to them either. They don't like the film because of this.

I enjoyed the movie and the overall atmosphere.
It could have been better, but I still like it.

Rewatched this yesterday. It still has some sequences that i absolutely love but the more i watch it, the more i see this frustrating mess that could have been something truly amazing if it weren't for some idiotic decisions and developments. Such a missed opportunity. I'll always love the movie for its grand ideas and awesome visuals but as a whole i wish it could have been so much more.

That's funny because I was not a big fan of the film the first time i saw but now I have seen it a couple of times and it growing on me not as good as any of the Aliens film. But it does look really good.

Ridley Scott is 77 years old right now. Should we really expect him to do P-2 or BLADE RUNNER 2 (neither of which look like going into production in the next 12 months) when he'll be damn near 80 years old when filming starts???

People who are working on what they like tend to last longest, I'd hope so.

Don't get me wrong, I really hope that Mr Scott has it in him to make a couple more movies, just like Mr Eastwood has done, but I have family members who are 80 and they can barely control their toilet habits...

I worry too. Hope he doesn't just keel over from loading his plate with so many projects. When most are taking it easy at his age, he's keeping himself busier than ever.
