Picnic at Hanging Rock - beautiful film.
Antichrist - painful to watch at times. Quite good, in an in-yer-face theatre type way though.
Duel - good.
THE MUPPETS CHRISTMAS CAROL!!! I love this. So so so much.
Jurassic Park - really great.
Dracula - decent read.
Brazil - a masterpiece.
Lost Hearts -really good.
Rocky Horror Picture Show - fantastic.
Whatever Happened to Baby Jane - brilliant.
Aliens - good.
Saw - not bad, not bad at all. Silly, but entertaining.
The Woman in Black (play) - stunning - if anyone hasn't seen it on stage, I urge them to go. It's so good.
1408 - entertaining.
Dog Soldiers - also entertaining.
The Mezzotint - good.
Pitch Black - good.
Sleepy Hollow - I like it. Prefer the Bing Crosby one though.
Nightmare Before Christmas - great.
Wallace and Gromit - brilliant.
Blood on Satan's Claw - I love this. So creepy and old fashioned in it's creepyness. Great film.
Lost Boys - good.
Oh Whistle and I'll Come to You - scary.
Marble Hornets - horrible
Beetlejuice - brilliant.
Dead Man's Shoes - really upsetting as a film.
Pan's Labyrinth - beautiful film, absolutely fantastic.
Sixth Sense - alright when I was 12.
Ghostbusters - great.
Peeping Tom - masterpiece
Silence of the Lambs - good.
The Others - good.
Don't Look Now - dull and not good.
Black Swan - good.
Tremors - amazing.
The Innocents - great.
Gremlins - I find this disproportionately scary. It's also really entertaining.
Suspiria - I love this.
The Orphanage - really good.
The Birds - good.
Scream - really good.
Blair Witch - good.
Se7en - way too high up on this list. Good but not that good.
The Omen - melodramatic, but good.
Shaun of the Dead - fantastic.
28 Days Later - great.
Nightmare On Elm Street - brilliant.
Jaws - great.
Night of the Living Dead - really liked this.
Psycho - decent.
Shining - alright.
Daun of the Dead - good.
Halloween - brilliant.
Alien - a masterpiece.
The Thing - I adore this.

Great list, Rawls - I really enjoyed it. Thanks so much for organising it.

I also still need to see The Wicker Man

Paranormal Activity - One of three found footage films that don't suck
Vampyr - 20 minutes of awesomeness followed by people doing nothing for an hour
The Ash Tree - Amazing
A Warning to the Curious - Amazinger
The Grudge - *Falls down stairs. Makes no effort to get up. Repeat a dozen times*
Haxan - Really, really good
The Dunwich Horror - Best Lovecraft
The Muppets - Yeah
Them! - Best 50s B-movie
Triangle - Glad to see this make the list
Jurassic Park - More like Kickassic Park, amirite?
Dracula - The first adult horror novel I read, and still one of the best
Brazil - Fuck yeah
M - Really good
Lost Hearts - My favourite James, though it's a close call
Invasion of the Body Snatchers - Really good, amazing ending
Cat People - That fucking swimming pool...
The Rocky Horror Picture Show - So much fun
The Howling - Okay
The Haunting of Hill House - Superb
The Host - Suffers from a slow middle, but still great
A School Story - Another of James' best
The Thing From Another World - Alright
Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer - The scariest hoover
Theater of Blood - Vincent Price is awesome
Possession - Assume everyone in the film is crazy, it makes it so much better
Aliens - Great stuff
At The Mountains of Madness - Like Prometheus, but amazing
The Call of Cthulhu - Great, and proves that unknowable alien gods can be defeated by a boat
1408 - Glad to see this so high
Young Frankenstein - Not Brooks' best, but still good
Nosferatu - Great
Count Dracula - The best adaptation of the book
The Mezzotint - More awesome James
Pitch Black - A really fun B-movie, before it got Riddickulous
A Warning to the Curious - Second only to Lost Hearts as the best Ghost Story for Christmas
Sleepy Hollow - I enjoyed it
The Invisible Man - Everyone should see it
The Nightmare Before Christmas - Easily the best thing Burton's been involved with
Curse of the Were-Rabbit - Great fun
Dracula - Better than Dracula (31), not as good as Dracula (Book) or Count Dracula (77).
28 Weeks Later - Pretty good, logical clusterfuck aside
Deep Red > Suspiria
Oh, Whistle, And I'll Come to You, My Lad - Yeah, this was always going to be the highest James, and with good reason

Marble Hornets - Even after Slenderman's been whored out to the internet meme pimps, this is still scary as hell

The Sixth Sense - A great film even if you know the TWEEST!

Peeping Tom - Should be much higher, but then it didn't get through the first round of the HoF when Psycho did, so what do I know?

Salem's Lot - The book is so much better

The Wicker Man - Amazing
Dawn of the Dead - That music got stuck in my head all day once
Halloween - Great.
Alien - Great too
The Thing - Not sure it's better than Halloween, but still a worthy winner

Thanks for the effort Rawlinson. It's a great list and now I have more than enough reading recommendations to keep me going throughout the winter. I'm still slightly miffed that Abstraction didn't make the list but I'll make sure it gets a high spot on the weird poll.

You were the only voter for Abstraction and it was a little too low to make the one-listers near the bottom, I think it might well make my weird list though. I think a second vote would probably have got it on the list. I actually got a copy of the film of one of your graphic novel votes the other day, Midori. I'm not sure what exactly is going on, because some bits look like stills from the graphic novel and everything freezes, but at other parts there's animation. It was a mindfuck though.

Yeah the animation is fairly limited to say the least and it's not as good as the graphic novel but it's an interesting adaptation. It took some poor lonely soul five years on his own to animate the film and all of his life savings to fund it so I salute the guy for his dedication.

You should read Suck It and Drunkard Condo Syndrome by Kago just so you can put them in the weird poll with Abstraction.
