Hola!

I have been to many gigs in my time so I ought to know the answer to this buuuuuuut....

What time would you expect the main act to be on?

My instincts say 9pm?

I would usually go to the whole lot - support act, all the waiting around etc - but I am going to see Coldplay in a couple of weeks' time with Mr JV. It's a joint Christmas & birthday present for him and I want to take him for a meal as well, so I just want to make sure we don't miss the main act.

Just to compound things - and I think this is why I hesitate - there are two support acts, but I think the time of the main act should still be about 9? I want to book a table at a restaurant and want to leave plenty of time.

You could just not go and see Coldplay.

But yeah, most of the gigs I've been to, the main act's been on 9pm, despite how many support acts there were, so I'd go with that.

Sometimes bigger gigs can start a little earlier, and sometimes certain days have to finish earlier and so start earlier. There was a gig they did recentlyish where they came on at 9, so that would probably be a safe bet, but I'd get there early just to be sure.

I went to see Guns and Roses last night - Axl came on stage at 10.36! The gig went on to about 1.30 am though!

Amazing concert as well!

I had my reservations as well but I can hand on heart say that the new band were excellent. The new guitarist (DJ Asbah or something!) was superb.

Well worth it even if it was just a tribute act witht he lead singer

Thanks for your help, folks! A scrummy meal shall devoured before the gig - although as far in advance as possible!

Coldplay have just announced on Facebook that they'll be on stage at 8.45pm for tonight, Saturday and Monday's shows. So we should get at least a 1 hour and 45 minute set.

So by my calculations, you should get there for just after 10.30

Your calculations are a bit off. That doesn't allow any bottling time.
