Sorry, I know its strictly films, but there were are also some cartoon shows on TV which bring back memories of my childhood growing up in the 80's! Gems such as;

Dungeons & Dragons!
The Mysterious Cities of Gold! (I purchased the complete boxset not too long ago! A joy to watch from start to finish!)
Dogtanian!
He-Man!
Ulysses!
Thundercats!
Jayce and the Wheeled Warriors!
Those are just some which spring to mind, and which I absolutely love even as an adult! They were some quality shows, unlike most of the garbage being shown on todays shows!

Star Wars, of course. Jurassic Park too, and Close Encounters Of The Third Kind. And Indiana Jones, thinking about it - a lot of Spielberg/Lucas stuff.

Pixar films as well. Toy Story 2, Monsters Inc. and Bug's Life especially. I still love Pixar films - as an 18 year old I'm eagerly awaiting Brave, and count WALL-E and Up amongst my favourite films.

What if you haven't quite grown up yet???

If we're talking childhood though...
Another vote for Bugsy Malone, I can still do the Fat Sam's grandslam dance

Honey I Shrunk the Kids

Flight of the Navigator

Beauty and the Beast

Land Before Time / An American Tail / Animalympics... any of these would still reduce me to tears!

To my embarasment though my most often watched video was probably Totally Minnie, a cobbled together Disney special with Elton John singing Don't Go Breakin' My Heart with Minnie Mouse. In fact, I would probably still enjoy that, anyone got a battered copy?!

I really got into films and cinema when I was 11 years old (circa 1994) and for that reason my favorite films growing up where the best films of that season. Films like Interview with the Vampire, Speed, Forrest Gump, Pulp Fiction, The Crow. One year later we had Die Hard 3 and Se7en.

Then, as I started watching older movies as well, I got hooked with Star Wars and so on.

I only had one favourite film when I was younger

I used to watch it endlessly. One whole summer was planned around how many times I could watch this. Itís by far the film Iíve seen most as well, way over 300 times. I donít think any VHS tape in existence has ever been worn so much. The final 20 minutes, the pirate attack, I watched countless times, over and over endlessly, in the thousands. I stopped watching it around 1992, but tried it again a few years back and it had lost none of its charm. It's not a masterpiece of deep meaning and philosophy, it wonít further your understanding of the human race, but as family entertainment, an adventure film, itís nigh-on untouchable. Storms, snakes, pirates, tigers, that wonderful treehouse that I always wanted to live in (love the version in Disneyland Paris as well), John Mills and Dorothy McGuire as the kind of folk you wouldnít mind being stuck on an island with, that great theme by William Alwyn, everything is just damn fine. And that pirate attack still rocks!

That's a crazy shout. I do remember going to see it at the cinema though, it starred the guy who played Howie in The Fall Guy - a TV favourite growing up.

I watched it alot more than I should of as a kid,it was constantly on the loop.
Other films I watched when I was young were (blame my babysitting nan ) Terminator,Aliens and Star Trek 3:The Search For Spock, which was another film on the loop mainly because I loved the scene of the Enterprise's self destruction.

I was just about to say that!

Anyway, my favourites are the same as my all-time top 3 movies: Jaws, Battle of Britain and Raiders. Add 633 Squadron, Aliens, An American Werewolf in London, The Howling and Total Recall to the list, too.

My favourite films growing up were totally random

I loved the Dark Crystal, Pebble and the Penguin and then basically any Disney movie.
Grease would also have to be one of my all time favourites from when I was growing up, although watching it now I definitely had no clue what was going on. I just loved the singing haha
