I bet it wouldn't have got many votes if we had. With the horror list, there were a few films I ruled out early on and there were outraged protests, so I allowed them. Not one fucking vote did they get. That's why it's rare I rule things out now. People get upset when they can't vote for something, but then can't be arsed to vote for them when they're allowed.

I would have ruled out Potter on the basis of them being shit.

Worst performance in a film that stars Clive Owen. Quite an achievement there.

With pleasure. My other half asked why I didn't just nab Italy and then I could go with Sorrentino, but I'd not idea where to go with the second. Nanni Moretti, maybe. Corbucci.

It's not an easy choice for non Fellini, Argento. Leone, Antonioni, Pasolini etc fans. And INvestigation of a Citizen Above Suspicion is unavailable

Got 'em.

Harry, I wasn't really thinking of asking for blurbs for the tournament. What does everyone else think?

I'd prefer not to have to blurb personally but wasn't sure if we were expected to .

I think it'd be better to go the way the music Eurovision does and let people be surprised/repelled.

I'll just put a line-ish underneath the films. Completely factual and objective so the couple I could be immensely rude about are spared.

Oooh, for which countries? Or does that break Eurovision protocol?

If it's not guessable when we post, I'll mention it then. Both involve entries from my loathed directors list, though.,

I think to tie in with Homer's patriotism threads, we should all write why we've selected the films in question and how they speak to the national character of our chosen countries. My essay on Polish Housewives will be bring tears to your eyes.
