 New show that's been picked up in the US from the Pilot. I think it looks promising....

I've never read any of the comics, much like The Walking Dead so will be watching it blind so to speak...

 Yes, it seems they've changed the names of one of the characters who's played by Katie Cassidy and name of the city he lives in. Unlike The Walking Dead which only has one (massive) story there are many Green Arrow stories, I doubt this will follow any particular one. Looks like it could be pretty good though!

No, but like Smallville, Birds of Prey etc. there'll probably be a few in-jokes and references for fanboys/girls.

It's a bit interesting they've gone with a GA reboot straight after Smallville ended, seeing as he featured quite prominently for the last few seasons. But it's a fresh start I guess, and I've got no problem with that. The Aquaman pilot a few years ago was more of a mis-step for me, seeing as though they'd already introduced him in Smallville with a different actor. But I guess it worked out for Justin Hartley in the end!

Probably but for people who don't read the comics (like myself) that won't make any difference.

 I never watched Smallville, aside from a few odd episodes here and there, is it the same actor or a completely new take on it?? He's quite a bit older in the comics, no? Looks worth a look anyway...

I am a huge Smallville fan, so I was looking forward to this anyway, but after seeing all the adverts I can't bloody wait... looks quite dark and edgy!

 Is the bloke in this, the same bloke that replaced Andy Whitfield in Spartacus?

I wasnt too interested in it and had, maybe mistakenly, written it off as a Twilight-esque teen take on a comic book, or as a replacement for Smallville (a show I hated), but the trailers are making it look pretty damn good. Has it begun to air in the US yet, if so, whats the word?

Do we have a US speed thread for this?

And no - comics are an irrelevance for this one. There might be the odd name for comic fans to go 'ahh' but that's about it. I stopped watching Smallville years ago and rarely read comics he was in and it wasn't any issue.

Only half way through the first episode but this is awful. I've lost count of the amount of times I have cringed already. The acting and scripting are just

EDIT: Finished the episode, even worse than I thought. I saw the 'twist' a mile off. Awful.

It was silly but its a nice change from Boardwalk/Homeland etc. Some mindless popcorn TV for the family to watch.
