Yeah, his inclusion I'd say compensates for the horror of having Michael Kadlec in your back 3.

Curse you Del Bosque for yesterday - Levein would have blushed over that frontline!

Llorente aside, things though are looking not too shabby.

i'm thinking my matchday transfer will have to go on a new goalie, thanks to Szczesny's brain fart in game 1 and Given facing Spain in next game!

Worth playing the transfer wildcard at this early stage? Some of my picks weren't even starters Mertesacker, Klose, Pavlyuchenko (though at least he scored...) Plus Xavi isn't going to get me many points methinks

Hmm, surprise that I'm top at the end of the first round.  I'm sure it will be the last time though. I've played my wildcard already as neither of my keepers played in the first round, neither did one of my defenders or midfield players.  So, sweeping changes as I believe people say in football.

Having an absolute shocker. I need Iniesta to get about 4 hatricks tonight and Ronaldo is a wee cock and why is Podolski playing as a left winger?

Wild card before tomorrow's games. Only thing is, player's prices are rising.

I thought I was having a nightmare this round (Kjaer conceding three/Patricio conceding two/four players picking up yellow cards) but making Pirlo captain means that I'm joint second with BASED ZLATAN ready to destroy England. woo!

64 points in one Matchday I won't point out that that is more than some people's overall scores. Oh wait.....

I have somehow managed to emerge from the group stage at the top, which is a bit of a surprise, and not really based on picking players based upon my obviously vast knowledge of European football. In other words, I don't have a bloody clue how I've managed it.

Now I'm trying to decide upon my final changes. Where I'm sure it will all come crashing down around me!

I had an absolute shocker to start with. Played my wildcard after round 2 and my fortunes have changed a bit.

Running a league at my work too and there's a woman who's admittedly clueless winning by quite a margin. Must just be luck, example being that she managed to choose the sub Poland keeper that came on and saved a penalty early on. It's either blind luck or she's from the future.

My team. I don't plan on using any subs. The only thing that might change is my captain depending on performance.

I think the website has got the Germany and Greece abbreviations mixed up Inevitable that I wouldn't be able to match the highs of Matchday 2, but one thing I have learnt- NEVER listen to the assistant manager's tips; ''why don't you swap Keith Andrews out for Mellberg and if Andrews does badly then you can always sub him out'' I'm thinking only the Germans and Portugese will keep clean sheets, so if Jiracek does badly I'll swap him out for Lescott or Debuchy. Captain swapping might need some changes too.

gah! suffered a poor matchday 3 by assuming players that played for teams that simply had to win would step up to the mark. Anyhoo, major overhaul now, so fully expect to be top again by Sunday.

Well, needless to say I've learnt from the mistakes of picking Kroos & Llorente - and about 8 others.

Hopefully these lads will do better...

You should be kicked out of the league for picking Pepe.
