If ever there was a comedian to divide opinion, it is certainly Stewart Lee.

I for one vehemently disagree. Fair enough if you don't appreciate his standup, but I think he actually comes across as quite a humble chap which isn't for me the hallmark of a twat.

I'm not assuming anything - I've never met him, all I know is the person I see on the telly or read about in the tabloids. I don't particularly like his programmes or what they represent but that doesn't automatically mean he's a horrible person, no more than your liking of Stewart Lee means he must be a decent one.
And as someone who makes his fortune selling CDs, why wouldn't he rather sell one to my mam than befriend a complete stranger? He'd be far too jealous of my looks and perfect teeth anyway so it'd never work
