Yes, that is true. And he is very good at being self opinionated, therefore he is very good at his job. I don't recall ever being in agreement with anything I have ever heard him say, but again, this is very much the job of a critic it would seem.

In truth I have no idea if he is a twat or not, and even then, surely the definition of a twat is a purely subjective thing anyway. One man's twat is another man's Patrick Stewart, etc.

I think the problem with the thread is that in the first few pages the 'twats' on display were pretty much universally considered as such. But at this point people are thinking "hmmm...who pisses me off a bit...?", considering that putting up someone like Hitler or Thatcher might be a little unimaginitive. The thread will either descend into chaos or sink into a bog.

I regret not knowing what Jim R might've made of this.

I think it's all to do with that old belief that women weren't meant to enjoy sex. So the vagina is seen as something shameful, and something that a woman should only share with her husband, and any woman who has sex outside of marriage is a whore. But with men, they were just being men. So a penis become a more common thing, but you're not supposed to see a vagina, so slang terms for it become seen as even more crude, and that kind of skewed morality has been hammered into us over a long time.
