It's an odd one, isn't it? I guess some men just want to see the Labour Party burn.

I just thought I'd quote this as no one seemed to pick up on it.

Michael Caine was a Thatcher supporter, tax dodger, called for the reintroduction of National Service and publicly endorsed Cameron in the 2010 election.

Not a lot of people know that.

Essentially he is all about his own pocket. He made claims prior to the last Labour win that if they did win he was going to leave the country (although strangely he appears to have not followed through on that) and made the claim again in 2009. He appears to be of the opinion that the Tories are all for protectionist policies for the rich and low higher tax rates.

"We've got 3.5 million layabouts laying about on benefits, and I'm 76, getting up at 6 am to go to work to keep them. Let's get everybody back to work so we can save a couple of billion and cut tax, not keep sticking it on."

Said multimillionaire tax-dodging actor Michael Caine. Call me a cynic, but I somewhat doubt he is compelled to get up at 6am 5 days a week 48 weeks a year to graft his fingers to the bone in order to keep his family from starving

Madonna hasn't written a single song in here entire life. She pays other people to write material for her and/or plagiarises other artists music. She's been sued dozens of times as a result.

Except she's written loads of songs, and yeah she uses other people as co-writers, and often other peoples songs too. I mean, you can't have it both ways here - either she doesn't write or she does write and gets sued. I mean, she's done things that other people have done similarly before? Sure, but so has everyone, how many things are there out there? My point still stands that she has written (or co-written) some of the best music ever written

Also, even if we were to somehow believe she wrote any songs...which of them were some of the best of all time!??!?

I'll agree she is a shrewd businesswoman.

Does anyone remember that documentary from a couple of years ago where they showed a clip of her stating (mildly paraphrased) "Of course I get rid of people when I have got what I can take from them, why would I need them when they have nothing to give me" (the general jist if what she said).

Yeah but why would she continue working with people who have nothing to contribute? Just out of loyalty? That is phrased in a way that makes her come off badly, but the priniciple behind it is essentially sound if you're the popstar who it comes back to at the end of the day.

The thread title is What A Twat. I believe the criteria has been met.

(In the context of the interview it related to her private life as well as business life).

you don't need to buy it it was on the documentary (I believe it was a BBC one from around 1990).

No, I mean, I don't buy that something she said in a documentary, which I think is relatively understandable anyway, over two decades ago makes her a twat. But then, I'm probably not entering into the spirit of the thread here am I?

Followed up with a pattern of behaviour which perpetuated that image, a well known diva attitude, an apparently very unpleasant approach to others and there you have it. It is not fame or talent which makes you one it is how you carry yourself.

Its all part of exactly that though isn't it - the image?

Here's the thing as well - that would make basically every pop and rock star of the last 50 years a twat really. Except maybe Cliff Richard. What a shame there are not more like him.

So we're not going to be smart and look for a reason why so many of them are like, we're just going to dismiss them all as twats as an empty, bitter, gesture? Cool.

I trust everyone who is just posting a picture and leaving it at that, aren't the ones complaining about the quality of Your Unpopular Opinion....

At least explain why you think so and so is that rather horrible word.
