Although I agree with your sentiment, I'd be a hypocrite if I was posting messages of sympathy or condolence. I often feel so disconnected with stories like this that it seems to take extreme circumstances to generate any real emotion (thieves robbing a house at Christmas and stealing the presents under the tree, or if this happened to someone I know etc, would make me angry for example), that a standard "How awful, my condolences to them all" message would be a false and empty gesture

Plus the words "Sex Shop" bring out the inner child inside me who still finds it funny when I drive through the town of Pant on my way to Liverpool, to see that some smart alec has added an S to the sign to spell "PantS"

Oh I'd pretty much agree. I was mostly just making a point about how our media (perhaps this is more an american problem) still finds sex so titilating. It's like the stories where "man kills friend over videogames" get publicized when "man kills friend after argument over money" gets ignored.

Laughing about an £11000 dildo heist isn't sex-negative. It's an uncommon and absurd thing, like people holding up a taco store to get a taco or people breaking into liquor stores and getting trapped. Being Captain Buzzkill and going "I'm not going to laugh because I'm a mature person about sex" is not particularly sex-positive, because insisting you can only talk about sex in serious tones is just as restrictive and norm-enforcing as insisting you can only talk about it in hushed tones. Besides, people aren't just laughing about it because it's sex. They're laughing because it's funny.

Google suggests there is a German film named such. It does not look hilarious and if that picture is a true representation then it is downright scary!

It's slightly more open minded than the norm, according to the official definition:
