I think that although you may sigh at the vast amounts of overly done sequels, this one may actually have potential to make a great movie. I think that if they almost went down an apocolyptic route, a fight for man's survival it could be pretty intense and gripping.

Let's not forget that other juicy plot point of astronauts getting lost in space. Wonder which sequel they'll show up in ... and who the leads will be?

Conquest Of The Planet Of The Apes in the 70s ended the same way as Rise did with the apes poised to take over the world but the film that followed (Battle For The Planet Of The Apes) had a tiny budget and never showed how the apes took control. I'm hoping the sequel to Rise will spare no expense to show us this unique world taking shape.

 I thought Pinto was fine in the film. The problem was her character wasn't given much to do.

 Hope Rupert Wyatt comes back to direct, they need to keep the continuity. Also I'd like to see Brian Cox return, his character was underused and he clearly now has a score to settle with Caesar.

That's what I was hoping for in Rise. The next one could possibly skip that though. It might just have been a gradual process of humans dying off from the virus and the intelligent apes proliferating until they became dominant.

I want to SEE the ape revolution in all its detail. It should basically be a zombie movie but with apes. I'd also like to see how they organised themselves into apes as soldiers, chimps as scientists and orang-utans as political leaders. A chance for an intriguing movie there. So DO IT, Fox!
