I'm trying to decide which one to use. I did have one in mind then looking at the quality pics in this round have changed my mind

I've just seen your church photo in the other photo thread, I think that would do very well and fits the theme. It's a great photo.

I was just thinking about that! I took loads from different angles so will have another look when I get home

Some very good entries this round. I hope there's a few more to come too.

I love photos taken up through the trees, take a lot that way myself, should put some up in the other thread.

You're right it's going to be tough voting this round. The Chief's snails is a particularly nice shot.

What i love about it the most, is that it's very painterly in it's style

Likewise. I have loads of photos that I took in Switzerland a couple of years ago, but it took me ages to decide which one to choose.

I proudly present: Storms of Silence

Talking of roofs

Alien Heights (because it reminds me of the facehugger oddly enough but it is the roof of the Sagrada Familia)

So, if the Church is the facehugger, then Christ is the egg, and God is the alien queen. What does that make the alien itself?

OMG WE ARE THE ALIENS.

Might have to have a word with a priest, sort out a nice Alien-themed sermon to coincide with the Prometheus release... Scare the shit out of the old dears at church and cull the congregation.

Thank you, hozay.

This is a photo taken from the wind swept summit of mighty Mount Greylock, the tallest peak in the state of Massachusetts. Known in the 18th century as Saddleback Mountain before it's renaming in honor of the great Warrior Chief Gray Lock, Mt Greylock is more above sea level than the Burg Khalifa and Empire State Building stacked one on top the other are tall. Older than history itself, this mountain was already ancient when India first smashed into Asia and Chomolungma was but a hill. This hulking crag, adorned with it's stunning granite light tower in memory of the first world war, is a true Titan of the American skyline.

Here, below, a young family stands awestruck, confronted by the stupefying panorama laid out before them:

Just a quick note to say there's just one more week to get your entries in for this months competition.

And thanks to all those that have entered so far; with 12 entries I think it's the biggest one we've had yet!

Cheers for bumping the thread hubu, I completley forgot it's time for voting.

You know the drill, just pick your favourite 3 pictures, in no particular order and I'll tot up the votes next week to announce a winner.

1. Alien Heights - it's hypnotic
2. As Above So Below - One of those never-to-be-repeated shots. Love it.
3. Vineyard Snail - I love the composition of this

I have to say it has been an awesome round, and really tricky to limit it to just 3 picks (I would have been in real dificulties putting them in order)

Excellent work by all- and lets get thinking of those themes for next month
