We all know that Batman is a vigilante. If he wasn`t in the pages of comics or on film and was in fact real, he`d be in a nut house, no question. He features in superhero comics, that makes him a superhero. And imo again, Marvel saved Batman not Nolan. Marvel were turning their hero films out by the dozen, not all were any good but most are. That pushed Dc into action. What else saved Batman? Hype! We`re all told how good this film is, how good Dark Knight was. And guess what we all agree(d) We`ll all go and see it, and because it cost £8 for the ticket price alone we`ll say, "yeah, they were right, it`s ace.". Star wars was reported at the time as, ahem, ok, we all went and the rest is history. Superman the movie, "You will believe a man can fly" , that was all we needed. Now we are drip fed this nonsense. I am very quickly falling out of love with cinema. I`ll go back to reading books etc and wishing they`ed make great films of it..........

It's all clearly a pile of shit and it would be much better if they brought back Jack Nicholson as the Joker and got Clooney in as he doesn't do that silly sore throat thing that Christian "I'm so Method" Bale does. Hardy looks like a bloke who came to get rid of some asbestos at my house last month and Hathaway is going to be so much rubbish, the part clearly had Madonna written all over it.

Tim Burton must be spinning in Adam West's grave, oh and you are all wankers for not listening to me all along.

Yeah but maybe we should be worried. I thought Ledger was a terrible casting decision and actually expressed my distaste quite vociferously in the future film thread...well we all know how that one turned out.

But, and here's my concern, I really like the idea of Hathaway as Catwoman. So by the theory that I have no idea what I'm talking about she's clearly going to be rubbish.

Or maybe the fact that I've mentioned my concern means we'll be all right after all. Who knows. But the one thing that is for sure is that it's only due to my love of the Princess Diaries (1 and 2) that I have any interest in this film.

Since this new trailer has came out I've heard more and more grumblings come out the wood-work,and I haven't a clue as to why.
The trailer felt perfect and I've watched it countless of times.

No Batman film has ever really followed the comics faithfully. I'd love to see a lighter, dark grey coloured and agile super-detective like we have in the comics and animated series/films, but at the same time I love the heavier armoured, hard hitting and badass version we get in the live action movies.

They're different sides of the same coin, if you don't like it, don't watch it. And I expect that for all the naysayers that seem to be coming out of the woodwork these past weeks, TDKR will still smash a few records when it gets released.

I was using Dwayne Johnson as an example of an actor practically twice the size of Hardy. Though he's a better actor than people give him credit for.
Whenever I read the comics, I always imagined Bane's voice sounding a lot like Riddick from Pitch Black. That cool, ominous, deep voice of a predator.

I wouldn't say they were that intelligent really, just not as dumb as the majority of current films.

Don't get me wrong I do think they are good, enjoyable movies I just personally feel they are far too overhyped.

Ask any of my friends or family and they'll all tell you, that my obsessions for The Dark Knight Rises is bordering on unhealthy. My brother and I have been counting down the very slow, agonising days! This trailer rendered me speechless for a good half and hour! And when I got the power of speech back, it was only so I could quote it, word for word! I actually, physcially cannot wait for this film!

There seems to be a general opinion that you can't understand Bane. I don't know if I'm blinded by biased and love for this film or what - but I saw the prologue in the IMAX theatre, and watched all the trailers, and I can understand him crystal clear (well, crystal and gravel clear). I can't quite place his accent, but the voice is mesmerizingly creepy! I love it! I honestly can't quite grasp why people are struggling to hear him!

100% agree with Kayotik here. Inception is ridiculous and non-sensical. Very silly but fooled many of the popcorn crowd into thinking they were watching art-house with added explosions. The Dark Knight is riddled with ludicrous plot holes and bizarre inexplicable character behaviour (and don't give me "agent of chaos" rubbish as explanation!) Nolan is very over-rated and hasn't lived up to potential of the wonderful Following and Memento unfortunately.

I'd have no problem with it using comic book science if they didn't tout it as being "realistic" and "grounded in reality" etc.

It's a Nolan worship thing. If they can't understand it, that means the movie is extremely clever. Same happened with Inception, people raved about how intelligent it was and how much of a mindfuck it was.
No it just didn't make sense and had made-up science. Other than, very simple plotline.

OH NO!!!! Comic book movies use, comic book science as plot devices, whatever will these unscrupulous film makers do next! Someone call the cops....

I'd have no problem with it using comic book science if they didn't tout it as being "realistic" and "grounded in reality" etc.

He's never claimed that his films are real or 100% scientifically accurate, it's people wanting a stick to beat him with that seem to have been labouring under that misapprehension.

Sure you don't like his films or his style, that's fine, but at least have an argument that stands up to scrutiny.

I think your taking the notion of being realistic and grounded in reality far too literal. It's a stylistic approach, if you don't like it fair enough but it's probably not the best idea to start criticising the people who do just because the idea is completely lost on you.
