Well I was thoroughly delighted with how well Ruffalo did on Avengers as the Hulk. He brought something other than angsty, I-can-never-be-normal issues which made him such a hard pill to swallow in the previous films. In this he was more accepting of his situation even if he hated it. I liked him, he was charming and fun and I want a Hulk Movie with him in it. Y'hear that, want! ... Ok would like... Please....?

Gosh, Marvel seem to be tough taskmasters with the actors in their films. There was the row over Mickey Rourke's pay for Iron Man 2 (they didn't want to give him much) and now it appears you have to sign a six movie deal with them to be in one of their films. Christ.

Judging by that wrinkly pic of The Hulk where he looks like Prune Face from Dick Tracy, the next film will be about him giving up steroids and getting a facelift..

having seen the film yesterday which as a whole is quite flawless, the Hulk was probably the most memoreable character, certainly had the best comedy moments (spoiler- the scene with the Hulk and Loki near the end is comedy gold) they got ruffalo and the big guy spot on in my view and could easily have spin off films that are more 'adventure' than the 'tortured' previous efforts.

I'd like to see more of The Hulk - Ruffalo was excellent in the role. Obviously there was so much wrong with the last two films that's it hard to point to one specific reason why they failed. I do think that one flaw was the lack of a decent villain.

Aside from that, I don't think there was enough drama or internal anguish in the two Hulk movies. It's about a guy who loses control and becomes a monster. I'd like to see a Hulk film that isn't about action or a climatic battle with a super villain, but is instead focused solely on that Jekyll & Hyde vibe.

However.... ******** mild AVENGERS SPOILER ***********

He seems to have found some sense of control by the end of the Avengers, so I'm not sure if that would work now.

********* END OF SPOILER ************

The six movie deal probably includes cameos and post-credits scenes. It doesn't mean Ruffalo will be appearing in six films of his own. (Just out of interest, because I can't be bothered to count - how far into his 9 film deal is Samuel L Jackson?)

Would like to see Ruffalo in a Hulk movie. I liked the previous two films, the first was quite smart and very stylised (even the comic panel editing), and Norton's take fits the Marvel universe, but Raffalo is the best Banner since Bixby! I think we've covered the origins and the kill or cure options (they will always play a smaller part in Hulk's story)- I want to see Hulk as a hero. Maybe in the middle of the conflict between SHIELD and other "interested parties" (Ross?)...

Grey Hulk (but stop there, because some of those other Hulk iterations got ridiculous, although General Ross' Red Hulk could be a fun finale, maybe too similar to the Abomination though).

Hulk as the hero sounds good- harking back to the TV series but building on that (The Leader's got to be involved somewhere, Whedon could make that work). Ruffalo would do that well. They've got a long way to go before the audience could accept anything as whacked out as Planet Hulk, I think I'm more in the Return of the Monster sort of realm, where Banner is apparently responsible for the death of an innocent and has to clear his name against shadowy figures.

Not interested in the TV series, Del Toro has spread himself too thinly and it would take away from the cinematic universe they've pulled off so far. Not to say that Del Toro couldn't be involved on a film project.

I think Hulk might be a good way to introduce other characters to the Marvel Cinematic Universe - his standalone films spend too much time concentrating on the inner turmoil of Banner ("oooo, Hulk is bad, I must stop being the Hulk somehow - oh wait something big over there is being horrible, I must go be the Hulk to save everyone!"), so perhaps if he's given a character to bounce off there'll be a lot more of that Avengers-Hulk magic.

Take Hulk and Thor for example - no way they're gonna put those two in a buddy-superhero pic yet, but their fight and the sucker punch shows that the two would get along pretty well in an odd couple kind of way, and the two can trade blows without really damaging each other. Imagine Lethal Weapon but Hulk is Riggs and Thor is Murtaugh. Now, since Thor is busy trying to carve out his own solo films, maybe Marvel start pairing Hulk up with characters that haven't appeared in the films yet, like Iron Fist and Luke Cage, or even that Amadeus Cho kid (Hulk couldn't punch him but they have good banter).

If there is a hulk movie with Ruffallo I would watch but a Hulk TV series that is bound to be shit- I mean come on if theres gonna be six appearances for the hulk in the future they should have him appear in small roles for Thor 2, Capn A 2, Iron Man 3, his own hulk movie, and the avengers 2 and 3- too be honest that is six movies that kind of makes sense- maybe I'm onto something.

After watching the movie at the wkend, i can say that The Hulk was the best thing in the film. I loved the Thor movie, hated Iron Man 2 (but who didn't) & thought C America was average, Hulk was just brilliant in the movie.

More of that please.

The avengers was great and ruffallo is by far the best hulk but a hulk tv series is bound to be shit a hulk movie I would watch though but how is ruffallo gonna appear in six hulk movies? He wont.
Way I see it he will show up in Capn A 2, Thor 2, Iron Man 3, his own movie, avengers 2 and 3- this is six movies so this is probably what we should expect too see off Ruffallo in the future.

Has any mentioned yet a Wolverine vs. the Hulk movie yet? Although that novelty probably runs thin over an entire movie, but maybe in an Avengers sequel. Ruffalo is the best Banner/Hulk. There were so many scenes that were subtly brilliant.

Dear Empire,
Check out what's on Rory Culkin's t-shirt in the scene where Ruffalo kicks him out of the car in "You can count on me"... Spooky stuff? - or is it all part of the Matrix?
I think you should give me a job for noticing this. Ok, alright already - I'll settle for the ALIEN quadrilogy on Blu ray. No? Parker pen? Bye Empire - love you long time.

I know it's meant to be based on scans of Mark Ruffalo's face, but is it just me or does hulk look more like the stand up comic Rich Hall???

Firstly the spin off TV show.. definitely not! The hulk is all about rage and massive strength.. on a TV budget this would be so diluted that it would damage the long journey it's taken to finally get to the Ruffalo Hulk that is closest to the original comic.
Secondly I would dearly love to see CapA get shelved in preference of a Hulk movie. However, as evident in Avengers, the Hulk needs other great characters to bounce off (literally!).
So in conclusion perhaps the best idea is to follow in the tradition of the comics and put together a Marvel-Team Up movie together, rather than a bunch of solo-outings. It would make more sense in-light of the characters being introduced to each other in the Avengers.

What mummbling Mark Ruffalo? It amazes me how he keeps getting work. They should have stuck with Ed Norton he's great in everthing he does.

The reason this hulk and banner worked was because he had other characters to balance this new mellow at ease attitude to being who he is. As a stand alone movie where's the dilemma if he's calm and can change at will? Nobody can kill him which we know and the same goes for Banner. There is no Arc and nowhere to follow the character. in the Avengers he's great cos he's the ultimate tag team partner but the others work in isolated movies because they're fallible. This take on the hulk won't work as a stand alone movie.
