Mark McManus (Taggart) used to drink in a pub my mum worked in years ago (obviously since he died in 1994). Colin McRae was from (and died just outside) my town. WIlliam Wallace lived in my town. Walter Smith was born here. And Glen Michael came here once with his Cartoon Cavalcade tour. Also- our local Poundland was opened by Tina Malone (Mimi from Shameless). Actually, forget that last one....

And I know something pretty scandalous about ex-Celtic goalie Rab Douglas that I won't say here as I don't want to get sued

My problem really is that I can't stand any of them.

It seems that the more elections/councils/parliaments you live through, the more disillusioned you become with the political process. No wonder the elderly become so bitter.

And with these council elections tomorrow, I genuinely have no idea who I'm going to vote for.

Maybe there's an anti-trams ticket?

 The only chippy worth noting is the chip van that goes round my hometown. Been there since I was a tiny wee thing and still the same staff. They still recognise me to this day and they always ask about my Gran or my cousins. His chips are the best around and oh man his half pizza suppers. None of your deep fried mars bar bollocks, real chippy doing real chippy food.

He also sells his sauce in barrs glass bottles for £1.

 Crispies in Keynsham ("that's K-E-Y-N-S-H-A-M"), in between Bristol and Bath (and our local lunchtime chippy when I was at secondary school), was the first chippy outside of Scotland to offer deep fried Mars bars. True story. They made national news at the time. Unfortunately it was and still is a shit chippy.

Slightly on but off topic, can anyone remember where that fast food place that will deep fry literally everything they have on their food menu and any food item a customer takes to them is? I can't even remember which country it's in, but seem to remember it being quite popular in the media a few years ago (during a slow news period).

I hated Irn Bru bars! They were only ever decent if they were warm and melty and even then it was like chewing off a piece of rubber. My favourite when I was a kid was a spearmint flavoured bar I can't remember the name but those were amazing! And refresher bars.

We still get them in NI, though only in a few places. There's a cafe in Belfast makes Wham Bar milkshakes.

Most proper sweet shops (i.e. those dedicated to selling sweets and only sweets) still sell them, but I'm not sure if that's just old stock or what.

EDIT - a Google shopping search would suggest that it's old stock and that it's no longer made. So, if you see any, buy up as many as you can to ensure your eBay fortune in a few years time!
