My dad alerted me to this today and I have to say I'm saddened for a couple of reasons. Firstly, the book is one of the weakest Japanese POW books I've read. Books like One Fourteenth of An Elephant, and Naked Island were far better written and stronger memoirs. The Forgotten Highlander, whilst the writing was weak, has a far more astonishing story to tell. Secondly, the casting does not seem right at all. However I would be happy if I was proved wrong about the whole thing.
