Yeah, this is happening to me too. I get as far as 691 MB (of 694) and then get the error message. Have deleted and reinstalled a couple of times, but it keeps happening.

It just never ends does it? Sorry once again. Can you confirm that the one you're having problems with is the retina version?

I'm having the same issue as all the other lads. I have the retina new version on iPad. 692.9mb is where it stops at, and won't update or finish download.

Was this always from an update or has anyone tried to delete the issue and redownload entirely? By happy coincidence Adobe's main guy is currently waiting for me in a meeting room downstairs *takes down LOTR replica Narsil from the wall and stalks downstairs with grim determination*.

Hi James and Team - In Summary: Issue 276 gets to 690mb of 694mb, pauses, says "Error During Download - Please Resume your download later". When launching the issue, prompted with " Content Update Available" etc - but gets stuck in the same infinite loop. Uninstalled the app, deleted the issue and re-installed - Same issues. Repeated again just to be sure.
Appreciate that you are doing what you can on this, and Im sure the glitches will all be resolved.

Hi James,

Just to confirm that this is happening with the latest (James Bond) issue and still happens even after deleting the issue and trying again, as well as deleting and reinstalling the app.

THANKS! That's exactly what I'm looking for. Have got them working on it now.

They updated the issue to sort the subscriptions issue and, it would seem, the issue was corrupted whether did so. That's my working hypothesis.

Hi James, David from HDvision / DVDvision magazine on iPad.

I have the same problem, I subscribed starting with the Skyfall issue, but the download won't finish. Then it prompts for a new version of the issue, which won't finish either. I hope you guys sort it out :)

Same problem here and yes it's the retina issue James,

My subscription comment above wasn't a dig at you but rather the whole situation with Empire and the platform you use to publish. It's just so frustrating seeing as issue you've paid for sitting in the library but unreadable. I will just download individual issues as and when I can see they work and might resubscribe in future when things work.

Hi James - methinks Adobe need a good slap. Latest update: Its now insisting on downloading the non-Retina version (332mb) to my Retina iPad, but will not get past its hangups on the almost completed install of the 694mb version. FWIW, the only page that seems to be missing on my install is the Games review part...

Same here.

I've also stopped the sub auto renewing in iTunes. Too much messing about and a new problem every issue. Nice app but not worth the hassle any more.

And as I was typing this it's popped up to say issue 276 is available. The retina version has now reverted to a Buy option and the smaller version won't download "error during download please try later"

Yeah, Adobe have removed the retina version as that's the one that's corrupted. They're trying to fix it and then republish but so far haven't been able to. I really am sorry about all this. I have just communicated your annoyance to my Adobe contact.

James et al - seems to be fixed now: Remove the app, deleting the old issues - the add it back in via iTunes, and re-download the issue 276. Everything works, no errors ( and the correct versions). Just pity anyone who is on a bandwidth limited internet service! And I feel your pain on this also James!

Yeah, Adobe said they're still testing but they've now replaced the retina version with a proper one so it should be sorted. Not happy. AT ALL.

Thanks James, I'm re-downloading it tonight. check out our own App, just type "DVDvision" in iTunes, (it's in french thought, we are compiling all back issues for now)

Hi there,

I just bought a year subscription and hope I don't have this same debacle next month. At one point, I had two copies of issue 276 on my device. All this uninstalling the app, reinstalling, re-downloading the content is not good at all. Updates popping up telling me the issue has been update, etc. All very messy.

I appreciate that Empire are not at fault here but Adobe need to be made aware that people are paying for a subscription service that (at least in it's current model) is unacceptable.

It's been largely due to the fact that it's the first time we've done multiple renditions of an issue. The process to make this work is... less than well thought-out. We shouldn't have problems with the next one.

I'm afraid I am experiencing the same problems. iPad 1 ie non retina edition. It stalls at circa 138MB, requests that the app be restarted and the issue resume it's download except that is only met with the same message.

Any advice please?

I have two Issue 276.

I have a similar problem with the "James Bond-issue". I've tried to archive it, and now I'll have to buy it once again. No way, I'm gonna do that. I've got a 6 month's subscription, and doubt, I will buy a new subscription. Last month's IPad edition of TOTAL FILM was AWESOME. If they'll keep it up, then that's more than enough movie-magazine for me.
