 I'm starting this thread so as not to clutter up any others with info about this release. I picked up this doco from Amazon for £7.99. Theyre selling the German Blu Ray which i can confirm is region friendly and English friendly. I watched over half the doco yesterday and its superb, really meaty at four hours in length and absolutely must for any fans of the Nightmare on Elm Street series. However i believe this release is missing an audio commentary from the American re-release. If you can live without that (which i can) then i HIGHLY recommend the German blu ray. Especially at the price tag it is going for.

That is amazing. I was interested in what extras were on this, so thanks. I will hopefully be able to order it this weekend (unless I find something else to buy instead which is not unheard of ).

I love commentaries but I'm not sure there would be anything else to say considering how much is given to each film in the doc and the extras.

Two and a half hours of behind the scenes footage for the worst one? Seems a tad excessive to me.

Although sometimes the worst movies have the most interesting stories behind them (Alien 3).

I think 4 is fun. My least favourites are 2 (although the part of the doc dedicated to that film is great) and 5 (which, amazingly, was one of my faves growing up).

 Yeah, same here. I can't stand 6, either, despite there being some good ideas, but it's let down by woeful scripting and acting. And the 3D bit is so shit.

 Great documentary, got it last year. The Nightmare 2 section is probably the most entertaining part.

It is rubbish and like you say, there are some good ideas in there but it's just poorly directed.

 Interestingly I noticed that in the Nightmare 3 chapter there isn't a single mention of Lawrence Fishburne. I mean its not just that there's no interview but there's not even an acknowledgement of his part. Strange.

It's probably always worth checking Amazon France and Germany for these things - that the region is OK is a given, and most US releases will still have the original soundtrack as an option. It's just a question of checking the extras and something like DVDcompare could probably help with that.
