Sweet. Hopefully they haven't CGI'd the shark.

That blu-ray looks fucking sweet. In fact, I have no complaints at all with the picture quality of their blus. I mean, they use the same generic menus on all of their titles, but that's a minor gripe. And isn't the Jaws transfer supposed to supervised by Spielberg himself?

Nah, you just hate everything.

The HD-DVD was better. Blu-ray is DNR'ed.

Yes. There are already actual comparisons available on the tinterwebs (though it looks like they're comparing the BR to a washed out widescreen VHS...)

I am more concerned about the extras - no doubt us Brits will be short-changed yet again with a cut documentary - although I will be ecstatic if we get The Shark Is Still Working.

This is not a concern. There is 0.01% chance of that happening. Universal use the same discs worldwide.

Except for the fifteen minutes they cut from the doc on the UK DVD...

Or are you specifically referring to Universal BRs?

I'm a big fan of difital projection myself.

Unbelievable.

This looks pretty good:

The Berg must have been standing over the technicans and hit them with a stick whenever their hands went near the DNR and EE buttons.

I actually wouldn't mind seeing a Blu-ray release for Jaws 2.

As pointless sequels go it's quite decent.

Got my copy from the US, have to say the picture looks fantastic and the The Shark Is Still Working is an amazing documentary, if you are a Jaws fan you will love it.

Yeah it's good that we do. Looking nice so far. The cheap Universal menus are still pretty ugly though.

WAAAAAAA?!?!!

I am quoting this post just to remember the time DC liked the quality of a Blu Ray.

Still waiting for confirmation of whether we're finally gonna get the fully uncut Universal doc from the laserdisc, or if it'll just be the same one that was on the previous region 2 DVD (i.e. a different chapter running order and shorn of about 15-20 minutes).

Absolutely stunning.

Can anyone who has bought this in the UK confirm, please, whether the Making of Jaws doc (from the old laserdisc and DVD) is the full two hour version, or if it's still missing about 15 minutes?

I suspect, as it's region free, it's identical to the US release, but I want to be 100% sure.
